just help me understand…..how can you drop catches deliberately?.............................................yea, you can bowl wide, no-ball or lose your wicket deliberately but how can you pre-empt a catch especially as a wicket-keeper who has a reaction time of < a second especilaly against spinners???....beyond my comprehension……. if you do drop it deliberately, it will be so fake....laanat ha aisieee reporting pay.......
re: Pakistani players under investigation for match-fixing?
I am going to change the title to "two Pakistani players under investigation for match-fixing?" as it's not yet clear who those players might be.
Another boomb shel on pakistani cricket fan...i wounder who are these two players? Might be Shoaib and Tanveer as they missing from world cup
Nopes, Shoaib and Tanveer didn't play against Kiwis or Aussies, this report is most likely for this latest tour. Shoaib hasn't played for a while, unless you meant Shoaib Malik... even Malik hasn't played in the team on consistent basis.

Absolutely right.
It is not easy for a wicket-keeper to drop a catch on purpose while showing intent to catch it at the same time. Things happen in a flash and the wicket-keeper cannot plan out his act in that fraction of a second. Stumping, though, is another matter.

Akmal and pacer Rana Naved are the two players allegedly under investigation
Karachi, Feb 27 (PTI) Wicketkeeper-batsman Kamran Akmal and pacer Rana Naved are the two players allegedly under investigation by the Pakistan cricket Board for their involvement in match-fixing.
The Voice of America quoting a highly placed source in the board reported today that both the players were dropped for the T20 international series against England in Dubai this month for this very reason.
"Although both have been named in the 30 probables for the T20 World Cup but they will eventually not be selected in the final 15," the source said.
According to the source, the PCB acted after the International cricket council provided them with information that linked the two players to match-fixing.
PCB chairman Ejaz Butt had stopped short of naming the two players yesterday at a press conference
Re: Pakistani players under investigation for match-fixing?
wow!
that's all I can say
if this turns out to be false (which it will be), then Rana and Akmal should sue the pants of the news organizations reporting these malicious rumors.
enough is enough boys. take some action for God's sake. shut these people up.
Akmal and pacer Rana Naved are the two players allegedly under investigation
where's your source? Don't just post news from wherever.
Re: Pakistani players under investigation for match-fixing?
^ looks like the source is: fullstory
Re: Pakistani players under investigation for match-fixing?
I guess…the duo will be banned for life…
Akmal for dropping catches and Rana for playing a crucial winning over…maiden…Period!
PS: Both of those two matches(test and ODI)…Pakistan had a sure chance to win! ![]()
PS1: Actually…every match must be analyzed and investigated whenever Pakistan lose a match.
So press trust of India got the story from voice of america whose quoting an unknown “source”. Yeah, that sounds credible.
I’ll believe it when I hear it from credible sources. I’m sure cricinfo would get their hands on it if it’s true.
Re: Pakistani players under investigation for match-fixing?
would u belibe Mr. Butt him self?
I think it should be the other way around. There should be a proper investigation whenever Pakistan wins a match considering the kind of form that they are currently in.
