Pakistani Players in County Season 2007

Mushtaq just took 6 wickets on first day, Danish took 2 wickets. I dont know about Rana and YK.

Mods can you please make this sticky so that performance of players cab be tracked throughout the Eng Season?

Re: Pakistani Players in County Season 2007

Aray bhai County is English "dayhatee" cricket and it has no real significance on International matches or performance. Only top class players' performance matter in County as it gives them more experience.

Re: Pakistani Players in County Season 2007

Exactly. Rana was Sussex player of the year and look what happened to him after that. Gooli maroo iss county season koo:mad:

bilkul sahi jutiaan maro in sarey losers ko

Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

In the recent match with Hampshire Younis Khan playing for Yorkshire scored 106 in the first innings and 202 not out in the second and to top it all in Hampshire’s second innings he took 4/52 off 18 overs.

In 3 matches so far his batting average is 91.50.

Do I hear flat track bullies?

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

And scored 100 in his only One day as well.

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

I was following his performance in County as well. His performance is remarkable indeed.
However the question doesn't stop echoing in my mind:
How come our "Super Stars" let us down when the moment of truth arrives?

This tells me that English County is dehaati cricket of England.

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

what does it all mean ?
Was he deliberately under performing with the national team ?

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

The match where he scored 106 and 202 not out was against Hampshire, who's bowling attack features Stuart Clark and Shane Warne.

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

Don't know bhai...makes you wonder though...

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

Good job YK.

Ehsan bhi, just to track the Performace of Pakistani Players in County Season this season i started a thread and i requested it to be made sticky but it was completelt ignored:D

Not only Younis but Yasir Arafat also scored a 100 too.

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

I never thought Younis Khan was a flat track bully. He was Pakistan's leading run-scorer in the test series in Australia in 2004. He then scored a magnificent 150 odd in a test and a hundred and fifty in ODIs in England last year. He also scored runs in South Africa this year, so since 2004 he has been very consistent.

So it's no surprise that he's scoring heavily in county cricket. That said there is a big step up from county (it used to be highly competitive back in the 70s and early-mid 80s) to international cricket.

The fact that a part-timer like Younis Khan managed to take 4 wickets tells us something about the standard of county cricket today

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

I dont really care how many runs he gets in Country cricket. What matters is how many runs he gets when he plays for PAKISTAN and in WHAT SITUATIONS he gets those runs for Pakistan. And that is where he has let Pakistan down - not performing for the country when needed.

He's already showed his wafadari to his gora masters by preferring country cricket to Pakistan for the Abu Dhabi series. His career will end like Saqlain Mushtaq's if he carries on this way...Saqlain was another one who preferred playing for the goras rather than Pakistan and look what happened to him and his career. Good luck playing for England Saqi!

Re: Younis Khan with Yorkshire.

Sangakkara, Murali and Vaas are also not playing in the meaningless and ill-timed (in an Arab desert in temperatures of 120 degrees in late May is utter madness) Abu Dhabi series. So does that mean they are not wafadar to their country? They (Pak) all failed miserably when it really mattered (i.e. the World Cup). And if you ask me who really cares about the Abu Dhabi series? I would have preferred to see a three test (instead of two, another blunder on PCB's part) series against SA in September instead. 2-test series is a joke between established nations and should be abolished for good.

Let's not over hype here. Besides Younis had clearly stated soon after his return from the World cup that he was considering retirement from ODIs (even before he rejected the captaincy)

Re: Pakistani Players in County Season 2007

We should use lesser and trivial series like the ill-timed one in Abu Dhabi to groom new faces. Because of poor planning in the past we still do not have adequate replacements for Younis, Yousuf and Inzi. Australia are light years ahead of every nation when it comes to strategy and planning and if one of their main batsmen is unfit or injured, they have more than capable batsmen in Phil Jaques, Brad Hodge and Brad Haddin to replace those guys for a few games
Our bench strength is virtually nil.

Re: Pakistani Players in County Season 2007

yasir took 3 wickets in today’s game, his side won too.

Good to see hm opening bowling with new ball and then coming back with an older ball to practice his reverse team

YK is learning good english these days and seems to have no problem
speaking his mind

Re: Pakistani Players in County Season 2007

I hope Yasir gets to play whole season Injury free, with this experience he can easily replace Rana in coming international season against AUS, SA and india.

he is the man i am really looking forward to see.

Re: Pakistani Players in County Season 2007

Which County is Shahid Nazir playing for? I heard that he was also playing in England and therefore unavailable for the camp/selection.

Re: Pakistani Players in County Season 2007

Hassan Adnan plays for Derbyshire…never heard of him in the Pakistani cricket scene. But interestingly he is not considered an overseas player for them. But his player profile lists Pakistan as the country…Hmmmm
