**Visa Restriction Index 2013: ****Pakistani
passport among worst for travel: **
Henley & Partners ranked Pakistan as 91st in its Visa Restriction Index 2013. The index ranks countries according to the travel freedom their citizens benefit from.
It was created by Henley & Partners to rank countries based on the visa-free entry their citizens have. They analysed visa regulations around the globe to determine the results.
Pakistan shared its ranking with Somalia, beating only Iraq which ranked 92nd and Afghanistan, which came in last place. India ranked higher than all three countries at 74.
The report said that Pakistanis had access to only 32 countries without a visa, while Afghanis could access just 28.
Finland, Sweden and the United Kingdom tied in first place as their citizens can travel to 173 countries, visa-free.
Pakistan — unsurprisingly though — sits at the tail-end of a list which shows respect a passport enjoys internationally. The country has almost become a leper for a variety of reasons, chief among them could be our insatiable itch to play champion of Muslim cause around the world, disregarding the chaos we face within our own ranks. The phrase that ‘charity begins at home’ is remarkably lost on us.
We have failed our country beyond any measure. The color green has significantly paled into the hues of indignity.
That is not a new phenomenon. Long time ago when I lived in Pakistan, had Pakistani passport, people used to show me their foreign passports and foeign citizenship proudly. Here is one example.
it pains me to see that once green passport holders were not looked with suspicion and there were no visa restrictions as such and now things have drastically changed.
It doesn't really bother me - never really had any issues travelling, or even if I do face any problems due to my Pakistani passport, I don't think I would ever feel ashamed/hesitant of my green passport
I'm hopeful InshaAllah things will turn around and good times will come :)

Pakistani Passport devalued to zero after 911. Please give credit or curse to those who created 911 scenario and involvement of Pakistan into it. Every time cross American-Canadian border, the first question immigration people ask "when did you visit Pakistan last time?" :)
Before 911 I believe Pakistanis could go visa free to Singapore and UAE, even thats gone now. Many countries have stopped visa free entry to Pakistani passport holders particularly due to its image and the involvement of some individuals in terrorist activities abroad.
I think its all down to economy of a country, Malaysia is the only Muslim country to make it to top ten in this list. Pakistan passport had entry visa to a lot of countries until late 60's including UK, before it all went downwards. If the economic conditions are improved, more barriers will be removed.
African countries getting higher ranks only cause they have local alliances as African Union, same goes for GCC and ASEAN etc, South Asia doesnt have that kind of visa regimes.
Terror related restrictions are applied if you carry a Muslim name or travel history to few countries regardless of what kind of passport you hold!
Remind me please, how many of the hijackers, planners, executors of 911 were from Pakistan? Why has Saudi passport not devalued?
Why are you asking me this dumb question? Where the head of mastermind of 911 was killed by American seals in midst of an army garrison living with his multiple wives and children?
