I would say drop batsmen below 500 ratings right away (except Afridi because of his bowling) This means dropping Akmal, Nazir, Mahmood and Hafeez from the WC squad.
Yasir Hameed should be the opener with new batsman. Both Yasir and Younus are below 550 and we should give chances to some new faces but in the interim they remain; Yasir because he can open and Younus because Inzi is retired now. He has failed miserably and repeatedly at the top (in ODI; he is fine as a test batsman). He might be given a try lower down the order with a short leash.

from WC bowling Kaneria and Rana should be out of the ODI team.
So from the WC 14 (Inzi having retired) out go Nazir, Hafeez, Mahmood, Akmal , Rana and Kaneria. I will keep Sami in ODI lineup but not in test (like Agarkar) and Rao too. Shoaib Akhtar also should be selected for tests only. Arafat needs to be given some more chances to make a decision about him. Going by the team management’s assesment of him, he probably also needs to let go.

The way we lost - we need a whole new start. Yousef,Younis,Razzaq wont be in their prime in the next World Cup and hence their replacements should be groomed from now on. Salman Butt should be the new Captain (ala Graeme Smith), Shoaib Malik the Vice Captain. I'd say a 15 consisting of Butt,Nazir,Hameed,Bazid Khan,Imran Farhat,Fawad Alam,Faisal Iqbal,Afridi,Akmal,Sami,Gul,Asif,Arafat,Mansoor Amjad,and a seamer like Niazi or Jamshed should be groomed. Yousef,Younis etc should only be playing tests.
