I think Pakistan should choose a group of 17 players for the entire year of 2005.
They need to consistent with their selections and give a fair chance to all players for their full potential. Remember, stars are not made in one or two games.

We need to preserve Kaneria for test, his value to the Pakistani test team is priceless. If he is used for ODIs, he will have the same fate as Saqlain.
Rana might be a dodgy choice but in ODIs, he has been a good new ball bowler and his ability to swing is more then handy in the subcontinent.

The only dis appointing fact is we have make shift spinner(s) for ODI which is not good at all, however Malik and Afridi make a good combo to run through middle overs quickly.

I wanted to add Gul but i didn't because Azhar and Razzaq nip and tuck to fill that gap easily plus both are handy batsmen.
