From what I hear but don't quote me on it. If a Pakistani applies for Indian visa on their Pakistani passport from Pakistan they have greater chance of getting the visa instead of from America on their American Passport.
yes and no...depends what you disclose on your application...i've seen people living in the western world who lied on their application and got the visa! there is a risk involved though in NOT declaring yourself or your parents to have been born/lived in Pakistan or acquired Pakistani Citizenship.
Its not accurate to say that India and Pakistan share a same culture. May be Bollywood and Punjab do but India and Pakistan are different because they have various Provinces with distinct cultures of their own. India is huge and it has variety of cultures and languages. Similarly Pakistani cultures are different and a Sindhi girl may have hard time adjusting in a Pathan family from NWFP.

You are right, I was thinking of just people on both sides of the border that speak Urdu. I think the food is also very similar from Northern Indian and Punjab. Haleem, nihari, biryani, pakoray etc.

My father is Indian Muslim and mom Pakistani. However, my dada and dadi visited Pakistan all their lives as they had family there... I guess my dad is considered Indian because my dada came from India? But so did my nana and nani. A little confused about that.
My best friend is an Indian Muslim. Her parents are from UP. I guess the only difference I see is that their dressing is different, theyre slightly more traditional and speak in a slightly Indian (Bombay) type Urdu.
UP Indians are very traditional. Most older uncles all sport beards (unlike many Pakistanis), wear shalwar khamizes regularly... Quite different from Pakistanis in this area. Also, instead of saying 'main' they say 'hum'.. Just one thing ive noticed.
Personally, i wouldnt wanna marry an Indian guy. My mom did say she wouldnt mind a Hydrebadi or someone from UP but i wasnt too sure abt that :D (no offence to any one- it's just that i do feel there are some differences in Indian Muslims and Pakistanis) :)
Oh and btw, Indian Muslims may also include Tamil Muslims! They speak Tamil and originate from the South- theyre very different from Pakistani Muslims.
