Re: Pakistani Muslim Parties tell USA, ‘Criminalise blasphemy or lose consulate’
Why do not they burn Saudi Arabian Embassy for not holding a single protest in their country?

Re: Pakistani Muslim Parties tell USA, ‘Criminalise blasphemy or lose consulate’
I feel sad for a lot of reasons.
We are celebrating 'Love Holy Prophet day' by burning tyres, shattering shops and fighting. I wonder if Muhammad PBUH would have appreciated this at all.
I remember Surah Kausar. ' Inna shaniaka hu-al-abtar '
Translation: Indeed it is your enemy who is bereft of all goodness.

My favourite way in which the people of Pakistan celebrated "Love Holy Prophet" day was by shooting dead a Muslim policeman.
I might be wrong, but I have a suspicion that the Prophet (pbuh) might have disapproved of showing love for him by murdering a Muslim.

He sure would have! There used to be a famous incident when prophet (pbuh) instantly forgave the woman who used to throw garbage at him daily whenever he used to pass her place. One day he passed and there was no garbage because she had gotten sick. So Prophet PBUH sent someone to ask for her health and etc. Thats how great, tolerant and forgiving He was. But his followers are murdering own brethren, burning own property.
We are a sad nation. We are not even good people let alone good muslims.

Comments like that made by some Muslims really disturbs me. Does that mean the prophet Mohammed wouldn't have disapproved i it was a non-Muslims who had died?
This whole incident is extremely sad, the film was wrong, there is no doubt about that but the way some supposedely religious leaders have hijacked the situation is appalling......
.......If Satan wanted to wanted to destroy Islam, embarrass it and show its followers as barbarians and animals would he not disguise himself as a crazy Mullah while encouraging his flock to riot and destroy property and kill in the name of religion???

Did you not read Sohaib's post above about how Prophet saw dealt with the non-muslim woman who used to throw garbage on him? Here's another story for you:
A Jewish man came to the Prophet saw to reclaim a debt. He grabbed the Prophet by his robe and cloak, pulled the Prophet close to his face, and said, ‘Muhammad, are you not going to give me my due? You and your clan Banu Muttalib never pay debts on time!’ Umar, one of the companions of the Prophet, got agitated and said, ‘Enemy of God, am I really hearing what you just said to God’s Prophet. I swear by the One who sent him with truth, if I were not afraid that he would blame me, I would have taken my sword and cut your head off!’ The Prophet looked calmly at Umar and censured him gently: “Umar, that is not what we needed to hear from you. You should have counseled me to pay my debts in time and asked him to seek repayment in a respectful manner. Now take him, repay him his debt from my money and give him an extra twenty measures of date.” The Jewish man was so pleasantly surprised by the Prophet’s behavior that he immediately declared his acceptance of Islam! And Hazrat Umar r.a. later on set-up a permanent stipend for a Jewish family that Prophet saw used to take care of in his lifetime.
This is my Nabi (saw).

That story suggests that the followers of Mohammed did not act quite the way the prophet would like. Maybe we could reiterate that story to those who are encouraging the mindless violence being done in his name today.
Many Muslims do still suggest though that a Muslims life is somehow worth more than a non-Muslims.

With respect, did you not read sanjinghs post? He was ONLY critical of post 83 which stated the Prophet would have disapproved killing of a muslim. Sajsingh was making the point such comments are unfortunate. That is - replace "killing of Muslims" with "killing of humans" would meet with disapproval by the Prophet.
I actually have no doubt post 83 was quite benign. But sanksinghs point needs to be understood.
Re: Pakistani Muslim Parties tell USA, ‘Criminalise blasphemy or lose consulate’
Southie,
There is a big misconception among people when they use word muslims rather than human and this got your attention.
Let me try here. Muslims most of the time were in the state of conflict and war with non-Muslims during the time of Prophet SAW. Since the time of Prophethood was revealed to the people, even the Prophet’s relatives and many friends became hostile to the Prophet SAW.
With this background, every Muslim life was precious and just like in these days during war every soldier’s life is precious, those days every Muslims civiliian’s life comparatively speaking was more dear to the Prophet SAW and his friends , than non-Muslims.
Having said that, there is nowhere in above post it says killing of (innocent and non-hostile) non-Muslims somehow would have been approved by the Prophet SAW.
I think this tradition of Muslims being brothers and united has been carried on and has superceded general humanity concept among few people.
Now, there are a lot of other evidences from the life of the Prophet SAW which speaks of him being humane and being against animal cruelty.
**It is the misconception by many Muslims to focus only on Muslims lives from older times but that is not applicable to all time and everywhere.
Every human life is precious for Muslims and should be.
Even Quran talks about Human life and not just Muslims lives being sacred and it also talks about human race as one big nation.
**Hope this clarified. ![]()
Wow! I just realized this is my #10K post.
