Muslim protesters went on a violent rampage yesterday at a Hindu temple in Pakistan’s largest city as published by the Associated Press via the TimesOnLine.com.
Karachi’s Sri Krishna Ram temple saw Muslim mobs openly wave pistols about, destroy Hindu holy images and rip gold bracelets from the arms of Hindu women.
Yet what worries most was the the chant of the Muslim attackers;
“Kill the Hindus, kill the children of the Hindus.”
This is the third time the small, stone walled temple has been attacked in recent years.
Besides yesterday’s violence, the most recent assault took place last September during the Pakistani national holiday officially called “The Day of Love for the Prophet”, and prior to that, January, 2011.
The holiday was called in response to the fifteen minute YouTube video “Innocence of Muslims,” which many followers of Mohammed look upon as blasphemous to their prophet.
The spiritual leader of the Sri Krishna Ram temple, Sunda Maharaj stated he would like more help from the Islamabad government.
Specifically, a government ran checkpoint to “stop people from getting close to the temple,” as well as funds from the government “for the Hindus to buy weapons.”
