Pakistani Music!

Pakistani Music Industry is underrated. It is not popular around the globe as Indian playback music is. Indian songs are most sought after even in Pakistan. Go to any wedding, check out the collection in any car, Indian songs are to play first fiddle.

I listen to Indian songs too, but they are unsavory. Consonant tunes and identical lyrics.

Pakistani music is a lot more appealing if one is to compare. Atif, strings, jal, fakhir, they all come up with entrancing lyrics. Their composing is a lot more appealing and catchy with a lot more variety. The vocal range has classic assortment too as compared to indian playback singers that sound, most of the times, descendants of Mukesh(I’m not sure if i have the name right here).

Laal, the part time band, is amazing. Adnan sami, Rahat fateh Ali, Shafqat Amant ali, ali azman, Abbas Ali khan, Ahmad Jahanzeb, Hadiqa kiani, najam shiraz, amanat ali, Fareeha Pervaiz, we have gems.

Come Listen to Pakistani music and support it.

Re: Pakistani Music!

Let me tell you what is wrong with Pakistani music industry. Just because you have good voice does not mean that you can be a good composer or lyricist. Every tom dick and harry in Pakistan wants to be master of every trait.

Look at Lata, Asha, rafi, mukesh or any other big music legends of India. How many of them have composed or wrote their own songs? You see how India has used our talent, fro Reshma to even the worst or all Adnan Sami. They made them sing so well cause musicians/composers do their job, lyricist do their job. Look at the songs of Rahat Fateh that Indians made him sing vs the ones he did himself. Huge difference of over all quality.

Re: Pakistani Music!

i only support pakistani music...well that and western music
but honestly i am watching aag constantly and although some of the songs suck others are brilliant

Re: Pakistani Music!

Pakistani music kicks Indian music's behind any day any time . The variety we have they don't . Its same lyrics , same tune , same singers again and again .

For Pakistani songs at least we get 1 good out of 10 , but for them this ratio is 1 out of 100 , and even that 1 song is sung by Rahat :D

We could say Pakistani legends didn't write songs for themselves either. Noor jahan, mehdi hasan never did. But we ae talking about current era. I wouldnt mind anyone writing/ composing as long as they do their job fine. Atif Wrote Aadat. It has outstanding lyrics.

there's nothing wrong wid paki music industry!! it rocks

Re: Pakistani Music!

The flux of QUANTITY we have in Pakistani music, some quality is going to come out automatically. Over all, we do not have the same schooling system that India has when it comes to music learning. People are self taught and its not always a good thing.

In general i find Pakistani music much and much better than Indian.

Especially the popmusic is on a much higher level in Pakistan.

:k:

I think some folks would consider themselves to be the ultimate authority on music though they're just very passionate listeners. I really don't see the point of bringing in Asha, Rafi or the Indian gang into this when the discussion has purely to do with Pakistani music. Though there's a taboo associated with singing in the Pakistani society, and with music too generally speaking, I think they've done a terrific job in bringing forward the local talent and the quality has been phenomenal. There's so much variety, diversity in Pakistani music and it's very rich melodically, unlike its counterparts elsewhere.

The best part is that we don't trash our folks artistes -- we groom them and bring them into the mainstream instead. Reshma, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahat Fateh Ali Khan, Rahim Shah, Attaula Issa Khelvi and so many more names come to mind. This is something that is very unique to the Pakistani industry. Parallel to this, we have a thriving rock/pop scene which is just brimming with energy.

So overall, thumbs up! They may be lacking in the marketing/packaging department and everyone suffers due to the security situation, but despite all of this, they're catching up and full marks to these guys :)

Quantity is much less then what we are comparing it to. I dont mind how many craps songs we come up with. Ill rather stick to how well we can do.

In spite of schooling, if they have such monotony, its a shame for them and extras credit to our singers who do so well on their natural talent.

Re: Pakistani Music!

pakistani music is good.

exactly,

and we have so many hidden treasures

SaeeiN sahibs singing is very very touching and too good.

tum pakistani music ko kya samjho :snooty:

With saying this you are doing real unjustice to Pakistani singers.
Like someone above said, there are far far far more Indian singers and to be honest, only a few i would call 'real talents', i.e. the mainstream such as Latta, Asha, Mohammad Rafi, Kumar Sanu, Gurdas Man etc.

The rest is awaiN

Re: Pakistani Music!

oh yeah surely pakistani pop scene is totally fantastic...great songs....though i'll say i saw more great songs in 90z but currently we are doing good....

comparing it too indian film music would be wrong since both have different genres....indian pop music is not better than our pop music and pakistani filmi music is not better than indian film music (with few exceptions on both sides)
