Pakistani Music + English

Why don’t pakistani musicians make songs in english ?

I personally feel that we can make a lot better english songs if we start making them, and if can’t compet with them in the start atleast we can promote our culture through it.

Junoon should seriously consider this option to have an english album.

Re: Pakistani Music + English

and what is our culture?

Re: Pakistani Music + English

^ Pakistani culture is Pakistani way of life. Our melodies, our beats our songs ... but in english. Won't that be great :)

Re: Pakistani Music + English

There are a few bands that do work in the English medium. Go to any underground website, and you'll find them. I personally like that duo team from Peshawar. They did that song "The King of Self". I read they came out with a full English album, and its on market.

Re: Pakistani Music + English

Dusk does alot of english stuff, junoons done some too, but they only made one video, whereas dusk has a few videos, and they even did a czeck republic tour. the band consists of guitar maestro faraz anwar and babar sheikh. faraz anwar also made an instrumental album called abstract point of view that was released in the US with a video or two as well 'progression of time', but it didnt sell too many copies.

Re: Pakistani Music + English

maybe bcoz some pakistani artists have a awful accent..

Re: Pakistani Music + English

I would HATE it if Pakistani singers made songs in english..yes u ask what is our culture? Our culture is devised from our languages...we should be proud of who we are..and what we speak and how we speak it....just think about it....there are some paki bands who sing songs in english...how far have they gotten? Look at Junoon...Junoon has been internationally acclaimed to be one of the best rock bands...HELLOO!! DO THEY SING IN ENGLISH...NO! It's because of them that the Pakistani music industry has been shed some light by the world...So next time you ask if paki bands should sing in english..ask yourself what you're sacrificing....your self-esteem? Your pride? Your culture? Your self?

When a Pakistani band gets international attention....doesn't it make you feel proud to say that I am a Pakistani and we have a lot of musical talent....and that we are not just a country that is overpopulated and overpolluted.....?

THATS WHAT I THOUGHT...

True, the accent does ruin the song.

jehangir aziz - never change

Re: Pakistani Music + English

I dont know if anyone heard of curdoury here. Album had some good english tracks.

p.s Sami, where have you been? Good to see ya!

Re: Pakistani Music + English

I dont like it when Pakistanis sing songs in english :-/ I have yet to listen to a Pakistani english song that i like.

Re: Pakistani Music + English

I've heard that song Never Change - its really good.

EP's main lead singer has an American accent - kid spent some time in the states or in an American school - he sounds so cute when he talks amongst other Pakistanis with fobby accents.

Re: Pakistani Music + English

yea cordoroy’s pretty good.

i just got bak frm karachi man. didnt bother opening gs there for internet wus too slow. upar se PTCL ki story toh sab achay se jaantay hain…

Re: Pakistani Music + English

I really liked the song No more by Junoon. Some ppl complained about Ali azmat's accent but I thought it was very decent considering the song has some desi touch to it. So it all worked out.

Correct me if I'm wrong ..I believed Vital signs first unofficial album was in english. They mostly did the cover songs. Junaid Jamshed was really good with the vocals.

Re: Pakistani Music + English

I would looooobe to listen Ata Ullah Esa khelvee's english songs
