My guess is with air shipment............they will cost around $2.00 - $4.00 a peace............would you still buy them at that high price?
Most people will not be able to buy at 4 dollars a piece.
2 dollars may be acceptable since the crappy mangoes are a dollar or more a piece anyway. Just as anything it may be supply/demand issue and who knows the price may come close to local product. wishful but why not? :-)
crop..for the same reason u are not allowed to bring in agricultural samples and have to note of u have been to farms etc in your trips. in some cases plant species not used to a bugs or diseases not native to that land can destroey them, same as humans get impacted..ever read about how native americans were wiped out by simple diseases?
I know you said crop. I was kidding by saying crap, meaning locally available mangoes.
(Native american had smallpox/chickenpox epidemic not being immune to these diseases brought by Europeans)

Best way I learned to eat them is after by placing them in cold water for a while. Not in refrigerator.
