Just sitting in his car, and the criminal opened fire at him. They’re saying it’s not a hate crime, but how can it not be?
There have been other recent incidents too since the UNC students’ tragedy.
One in detroit, and some other people of Somali and other descents getting killed or harassed elsewhere. I think one case of a boy being beaten up by police in Europe.
I know these are a few occurrences, but this hasn’t EVER happened before. Maybe ISIS playing a role, or maybe American Sniper inspiring people to go on shooting rampages? One girl posts from Texas that she was followed at school, others even talking about how they’re now escorting their hijabi friends to their cars at school for protection.
This is incredible. I can’t believe we’re living in this age.
^^^ It could be hate crime, but I wonder how can you tell if someone sitting car is Indian, Pakistani or even Mexican? Btw, after 9/11 lot of Sikhs were attacked b/c they thought they were related to Osama bin Laden.
PCG, it is very dangerous to jump the gun. Let us wait to see what happened. And not instinctively chalk this up to either mental illness vs hate crime.
Anyone looking south Asian need not be Pakistani. So how did killer know it was Pakistani.
I’ve had my mom remove the tasbeeh from her car. It could have been just some marking on the car, or the killer had been stalking him. Why pull out your gun on some random person on the road, when there was no evidence the guy had been peeving him off. Was the muslim guy speeding? Driving like a crazy peeving off drivers? No evidence of that either.
And even the guy thought he was black, it still doesn’t make any sense why he shot him out of nowhere.
