PAKISTANI LAWYERS

Re: PAKISTANI LAWYERS

While we are discussing the topic of junglees hopping over gates & fences, there's a very famous pic. of another group of people doing something similar.. Only that pic. dates back to Oct. 12, 1999.

I can't post that pic./URL here as it is my very first post to the forum and the rules say that I can only post outside URLs after 25 posts. But I'm quite sure we all know what pic. I'm talking about. The major difference between that pic. and the one posted on page 1 of this thread is the color of the uniform of people who are hopping over the gates :-)

Re: PAKISTANI LAWYERS

use your other nick to post it :)

Re: PAKISTANI LAWYERS

I don't have another nick.. but may be someone else will post that pic.

Re: PAKISTANI LAWYERS

Welcome storm321,

And no need to post the picture, everyone knows what you're talking about. The soldiers from 111 Brigade climbing the gates at PTV Isl on 12 Oct 1999.
But such physical roles are a part of a soldier's profession; how does that compare to the lawyers?

Re: PAKISTANI LAWYERS

On to a current and most serious matter. Our men of law and letters are for once united in that they all want law and order and justice to prevail. But should they demean Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, and all the good he has done and stood for, by parading him around the country like a political ‘mascot’? Should he be stood up to face politically motivated crowds? Should he not be allowed to be at peace while he faces the presidential reference? Our legal fraternity is mistaken if it thinks that its parades and strikes and ‘token hunger strikes’ (whatever nonsense they may be) will make one iota of difference to Acting Chief Justice Baghwandas’s sense of duty, his adherence to the law, or to his conscience.

Re: PAKISTANI LAWYERS

silly billy, u r walking a thin line trying to make ur point by repeatedly posting selected portions of cowasjee's articles. If this is how u want to play, then i can post two articles for every single article u post in favor of the Caesar. What purpose r u trying to serve here? Just one article abt the Jamia Hafsa will be enuf to cool u down so be careful.

:)

Re: PAKISTANI LAWYERS

Thanks for the welcome Haris. I look forward to some healthy debates and discussions on this forum.

Being trained to jump over obstacles doesn't mean soldiers can jump over PTV station gates and take control of government buildings. Just like being trained to shoot weapons does not mean one can shoot whoever comes in one's way.Thats how it compares to the lawyers. I guess the idea of posting the pic. of the lawyers in the first post of this thread was to show their unruly, unethical ways... the same holds true for soldiers who were conquering their own TV stations on Oct 12.

Almost the same text that has been used under the lawyers' pic in the very first post of this thread can be used to describe the Oct 12, 1999 pic. of soldiers jumping over PTV station gates.
