Pakistani Law

I asked this question in one of the thread.

Any answer please?

Re: Pakistani Law

Great!

It seems the answer most likely is no.

Re: Pakistani Law

There are laws that restrict the practice of Ahmediyyat

Re: Pakistani Law

is Amr bil maroof wa nahi anil munkar practice of religion?

Re: Pakistani Law

Yes there is. I am explicitly prohibited to practice Islam of all religions.

Re: Pakistani Law

Don't talk of law here.
We have practiced only one law.
Martial law.

Re: Pakistani Law

No there is not any such law and there shouldnot be one either.

Re: Pakistani Law

No few people have practiced Martial Law… and believe me it’s a bit over-rated though i can see why it is usefull.

Pakistan has deterioirated under so called democracy so lets not blame Martial Law for everything… we have yet to practice that as a nation… the Army has good practice but if they get thier own medicine on them they might understand :jhanda:

Re: Pakistani Law

We are talking about practicing religion.

Please provide more detail how you might say what you said.

Re: Pakistani Law

^ I thought Islam is a religion?

There are laws that prohibit me from saying the kalima, saying salam, calling azan and many other things. The funny things is that the opening passage of the law makes it clear that it is intended to stop Ahmadis from indulging in non-islamic activities. Then it lists all these things. In other words calling all these things unislamic. :D

Re: Pakistani Law

Chacha sahab, my intenton is no to get into ahmadiyat muslim/non muslim debate which is just plain and simple fruitless.

My queation was strictly on prohibiting someone to 'practice' ANY religion.

Surely any religious person from any religion CAN practice his/her relgion. No?

The penal code (not defending) seems to have provisions to practice but not what they believe is imposing to be muslim.

I understand it could be considered as if it is stopping people from practicing the religion of their choice but it does not. Unless I miss something.

Re: Pakistani Law

Had there been a law like that, then the Churches, Temples, Prayer House of Qadyanies, Festivals and Prayer house of Agha-Khani/Ismailies, Prayer house of Bohries and Parsies existed ???

Re: Pakistani Law

Guess not.

I am trying to understand, if one searches something like religious tolerance in Pakistan, a lot of sites say a lot of things but those examples they give are actually not proving that somehow religious practce is prohibited by law.

Surely blasphemy is mentioned too, but then one can ask,

........is blasphemy part of any religious practice?

Re: Pakistani Law

I think religious In-tolerance have lot to do with the general level of frustration and desperation in the societies, which again is direct result of economic well being of individuals of any society.

Re: Pakistani Law

what about atheism?
is someone allowed to practice it

Re: Pakistani Law

is it a religion????

Re: Pakistani Law

^^ not really. they are missing a decent god .

but my question is serious, i know it is not in accordance with the topic of this thread but it is relevant nonetheless.

Re: Pakistani Law

Yep. For some religions/sects what you define as 'blasphemy' is a part of their religious practice.

Re: Pakistani Law

what is there to practice in Atheism?

Re: Pakistani Law

^^ Its fine if you dont have an answer. i am sure you know what i am asking, if you dont then my question is not intended to you.
