The logic in the last para reminds me of a right wing talk show host who defended gas guzzling Humvees because there aren’t a lot of them.
The left winger is at fault here for attacking just Humvees. You’re supposed to go after anything that has poor fuel efficiency. Most people who drive trucks and SUVs down here in Texas don’t really need them. Sure there are people who need trucks for work but most drive them as a status symbol.

As.for those racing on public roads simply enforce speed.limits and fine the bejesus out of them. It is a false choice.
**You don’t have enough cops to catch everybody. And heck people will take the racing business to other countries. Mexico wouldn’t have any problems hosting the NASCAR. So now all you did was lose business to another country.
**
Also if there aren’t a lot of race cars around how will this technology be ubiquitous.
**The technology is being used in high end production cars already. They’re manufactured on a larger scale than race cars. So it will trickle down, eventually.
**Finally saying that race cars serve a purpose is akin to saying wars service e a purpose.- for technologies developed for war equipment aircraft etc r used for civilian applications.
**
Race cars cause a lot less destruction than wars.
Liken this Mr. Hunt.
