ISLAMABAD: Photo editing software developed by a Pakistan technology firm Five Rivers became the best selling paid-for application for the Blackberry, the firm said Wednesday. Lahore-based Five Rivers said its Photo Editor Suite had hit the top spot across all sectors on Blackberry’s AppWorld store.
“This is extremely good news for us and especially for the Pakistani IT industry,” Mahe Zehra Husain, the head of operations and product management at Five Rivers Technology, told AFP. “We feel we are on top of the world. This is incredible.”The application “has been in the top five paid applications for quite a while now and on Sunday made its way to the number one spot,” she said.
Photo Editor Suite allows users to crop, rotate, adjust brightness and contrast, recolour and resize photos, Husain added.
it’s a proud moment for pakistan. I’ve never heard of Five Rivers but writing software for giants like Blackberry and Apple and having the number one photo editor software is a major accomplishment.
Re: Pakistani IT firm ‘on top of the world’ in apps
you are not the owner :p…are you really? well if you are then :k: if you’re not, do i really look that naive to believe that :hinna:
about Mahe Zehra Husain, the head of operations and product management at Five Rivers Technology, i know i shouldn’t point out her gender but i’m so proud of her for being the head of operations and product management of the company…woohoo!!
Re: Pakistani IT firm ‘on top of the world’ in apps
but as i have come accross news about this software ,pakistani software professionals own companies thousand times bigger than this software company
but have those companies ever had software that's made it to the top spot as most downloaded for giants like the two companies that the article is talking about.
must be some smart brains to write good software like that
