What is the difference between private and government hospitals in Pakistan? I know private is more expensive.
My aunt involved in an accident and damaged her face went to a government hospital and they sewed her face with stitches, however because she couldn’t afford full treatment they didn’t clean underneath properly that can cause infection.
**some hospitals are great as i heard but very expensive.
recemtly, i was surprised to learn that liver transplant is not available anywhere in pakistan coz one of my relatives had to come to india to get it coz she couldn't afford to go to the US or UK or any other western country. India not only ghave her and her two sons visa to come and go as they please for the treatment but paid for the treatment as well which was done at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences [AIIMS]. that was a kind gesture. alHamdolillah, she is doing fine :)**
Yeah govt hospitals are pretty bad. I work in one so i know. Private on the other hand are really good. Unfortunately our govt only spends 0.2% of budget on healthcare so you can imagine the funds that govt hospitals get. We have missiles to reach out to India but we don't have an MRI machine for our patients.. Private hospitals don't charge too much, as a matter of fact the private hospitals DON"T make alot of profit. But the cost of healthcare is expensive. THey have to pay the doctors, the nurses, and hudnreds of other staff such as janitors and other workers. All the equipment itself also costs ALOT. So if you add everytying up you 'll see the private hospitals barely make any profit.
Healthcare is expensive, the population is growing at an uncontrolloble rate, and there's no money. so you can imagine why we are in this state.

Recently Punjab Government offered special package of 150K for liver transplant surgeon in Lahore Shiekh Zaid Hospital because there are few earning millions abroad but not come here to serve thier country on government BPS so special summary was moved by Health department to CM Punjab. I think , its not yet started.
When I raised this issue of tens of Pakistanis going India every month for liver-transplant to India due to lack of Pakistani doctors in this filed, the BC of APPNA sitting in US earning 500K started thier BS about other things and not bothered about it. GS,President ,Treasurer no one was willing to say anything.Manzoor Tariq and Saima Zafar was running election campaign with post card photos of some state governor invited at thier house ! Thier own fellow , Dr.Mansoor , head of Cardio in Mayo and King Edward Lahore , told me that APPNA and other organizations have not done anything in this regard except sending some out dated medic. equipments and few dollars from thier over-whelming wallets except Dr. Faisal habeeb cheema who did collaboration in research with King Edward in cardio and stem cell areas.I know this guy, an old Crescentarian , Ravian and classfellow of Dr.Sabieh then went to AKU and now a renowned researcher at Columbia who recently arranged Dr.Saliba visit to LUMS and Government College at Sabieh's Science society.
PS: Some one was saying here about missiles and health budget. Pakistan Non-conventional warfare budget is extremely low as compared to otheri conventional. NDC and NESCOM budgets and pay scales are normal with other private/gov. organizations.Even SPD received 100USD last year for safety of nukes. My friend's brother recently came from Cambridge after his Doctorate in optical fibre , inducted in NDC with quite reasonable salary.Missiles are not for offence only as after Mumbai attacks , what saved Pak. from sure surgical strikes. Its corrupt government and mismanagement which we lack, not heavy budgets on warfare.
