I can’t believe people still go to these guys. A relative of mine got herself into serious trouble yesterday because she had stopped taking her diabetes medication and was using some dawai she got from a hakeem.
I still don’t know the full details but they said some blood capillary in her stomach was ruptured and there was blood everywhere in her stomach. She has been vomitting blood since yesterday. When she was taken to the emergency, they said she might or might not make it but Alhumdulillah her condition is stabilised now. That’s all I know for now.
PLEASE stay away from hakeems when you can afford professional health care.
No, homeopathy has advanced a lot now. I can trust fully qualified homeopathic doctors but not bazaar mein baithe hue hakeems.
actually homeopathic qualification is pakistan is just like a politicians qualification......the requirement for getting accredited is that you are matric pass (10th grade).....you don't need any science degree....there is open cheating.......and hell lot of other bullcrap........
so even a qualified homeopathic is nothing guarenteed............there are 'few' who are good at it...mostly those who do it as a hobby..
and hakeem are not all bad.......like hamdard and qarshee have some qualified hakeems...
but i think the bigger problem/evil than hakeems is the media which advertise them......mainstream media ..even PTV (reaches 70% population of pakistan) are showing adverts like those....
Qualified hakeems have a good success rate. The thing is that hikmat requires the use of natural ingredients, which causes no side effects. That is why it appeals to a lot of people. But the bigger problem is that most people dont go to hakeems unless their case is fairly advanced. First course of action for most people is allopathic doctors, who use pharmaceutical medication, which always has side effects. Once those side effects kick in, people get frustrated, and go to hakeems for natural medicine, but in many cases, it is too late for that to work.
Most hakeems will advise you to contact them for prevention of a disease, not a cure. If a patient has been taking allopathic medicine, resulting in side effects, most bonafide hakeems will clearly tell you that they cannot reverse that condition. However, if no allopathic medicine has been taken to cure any particular ailment, then natural remedies from hakeems do work well.
Was the bleeding due to the hakeem’s medication? If so that’s really dangerous and he should be stopped from practicing. Just to let you know stopping diabetic medication doesn’t cause stomach bleeds… it sounds like she had a stomach ulcer that eroded into a blood vessel in her stomach.
With conditions like diabetes its a life long chronic problem that eventually just gets worse and worse as you age, a lot of the “hakeems” offer cures, which are impossible but it’s what tempts people. However there are natural remedies which seem help control blood sugar better things like bitter gourd, but they should always be taken WITH the diabetic medication.
