We are planning to decorate one room in our house as totally Pakistani room. Begum has assigned me the duty to find out the shops where we can buy color-and-culture-rich furniture (and decoration) like

any suggestions where to look in Toronto other than Gerrad St ?

Oh wow.. I am doing the same. I was looking to find more of moroccan stuff than pakistani.. finding pakistani stuff will be hard I think. So far... I am planning to get an pakistani/persian carpet (the room has wooden floor) and I have a twin bed that I want to use as a daybed in that room. I plan to purchase a TV to go on the wall anddddddddd all the floor seating..

What have you guys planned?

I know a family friend who decorated their whole house like that, they got the furniture shipped from Pakistan though. For the entire house (including beds for the kids and all their own bedroom) it came to $11K.

That in fact is not bed. We are not looking for whole house but convert one room. Can you get any contacts (web site or name, # or suppliers in Pakistan) from your family friend?

Pakistani furniture very reliable and low cost furniture thre are the many companies sale furniture if you search on the net there website in front of you.

My brother can send you any jhoola or pakistani furniture you like, he has an export license. Just tell us what you want, and he can send you a quote inclusing shipping and handling cost.

A family friend shipped custom made furniture over from Pakistan. It looks really nice. Just took a lot of time!

We have also been planning to decorate one of our reception rooms with Pakistan furniture

I have not found much nice stuff here in London ..I will post of pics of some things that we have found so far but not what we have been looking for….check the following page of a Pakistani company that exports. I have emailed them and got a quick reply. they seem good

No idea about London but if you contact IDHS, they probably ship furniture from Islamabad. The prices of furniture might be on the higher end (Islamabad is expensive in general), idk but you can always ask for a quote to see if it suits your budget.

World Market in US has some pieces made in India that are traditional looking. These are not Pakistani pieces though. They also have stuff from Indonesia and other different places.

Apparently, they have a huge range of indoor and outdoor swings. And the only one I could find online. LOL!!! :wink:
