We recently needed a little furniture for our dinning room… and went to the Lahore furniture market and sadly the bulk of the furniture is chinese now… really can’t believe this thing… we r losing one by one all our strongholds due to the pathetic policies and big statements only… very little pakistani furniture was available in readymade mode… if you have to get Pakistani furniture then you have to get it made on special order.

our local manufacturers are not competitive. I suppose the govt can provide some sort of protection to them, but that would mean that consumers would not be getting the benefit of open competition.
