Pakistani football players in EPL?

There are a number of Pakistani cricket players coming through in the UK, see for example Sajid Mahmood in their international team.

Are there also any Pakistani players in football? As far as I know, there isn’t a native pakistani player playing in the EPL?

Why is that? Clearly, it can’t all come down to football not being popular or not lack of interest, because a few indian players ARE coming through in the EPL

any thoughts?

native.. u mean not britpaks but ppl coming from pakistan to play in EPL?
if you mean britpaks then u are incorrect, if you mean ppl coming from pakistan, then err have you seen the quality of play there they can barely make it to local clubs..i mean they get so tired walking over they barely make it in the stadium for matches.

^well actually I meant both.

ur right that native would mean coming over from Pakiland,...........actually I meant the whole spectrum:

  • persons born in UK
  • persons born in Pakiland, but imported when they were 15+
  • but also persons born in Pakiland, but moved to UK with their families when they were under 5 yrs

Wasn't there a Pakistani defender playing for Fulham (or some other mediocre team) playing in the EPL last year? I don't know if that team is relegated or not but I'm pretty sure he was up in the EPL last year. So there is (or has been just as recently as last year) atleast one Pakistani in football.

Zesh Rahman - plays for played for Fulham. He also represented Pakistan in some matches.
