Do you think 2012 is going to be the year to jump start the industry?

Why are there so many people now, of all times, wanting to experiment with new ventures? Are people just finally fed up with Bollywood? Is the political situatin and anger in Pakistan fueling this as an expression of public opinion?

I do believe that 2012 will be a good year for Pakistani Cinema and I hope because of this they officially stop calling the Film Industry 'Lollywood' the name is too much of an embarassment. Anywho I think we are seeing all these new people experimenting now probably because of what you said that they are too fed up of the local cinema. I also think that because of the technological advancements in film production techniques its gotten fairly cheap to produce films now days especially with Digital cinema and perhaps that has played a part in encouraging people to enter the technical side of the entertainment industry.

No. Not until we see a consistent string of these projects see widespread release in the theaters and sustain for at least a year.

Hope they don't end up being telefilms.

Yeah i hope 2012 turns out to be good for Pakistan over all. Keep your country in your prayers. :)

Bollywood has reached situration level. No more good and new i can expect out of it. I rarely watch any bollywood movie, or want to keep up with their gossip.

That is likely to happen. I have noticed several upcoming 'feature films' that resemble telefilms.

haha people are so used to watching dramas that they dont really care about pakistani movies

and i dont think anyone really watches indian movies anymore either
theyall suck

now if only the admins would create a separate category for "Pakistani Cinema" so the movie threads wouldn't get overshadowed by the Maat's and Mein Chaand Si's of pakistani Tv :p
