Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

anyone?

I remember there were a few GS users from Dubai such as Dubaiwali..where r u guys?? I need ur help:)

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

You can find a few selections of Nishat in their shops. The largest selection is in Dubai Outlet mall, then Lamcy mall, and Festival City.

Junaid Jamshed has a branch in Meena Bazaar, and elsewhere too, but you'd have to google for the locations.

There is a shop selling a few Gul Ahmed pieces, at exorbitant rates, in Century Mall, close to the Sharjah/Dubai border, down the street from Al Mulla Plaza.

There are several shops in Meena Bazaar, Vavas and the shops nearby, selling Gul Ahmed (copies), other branded (copies), and embroidered swiss voile, shawls, etc. If there, bargain hard!

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

thanks a bundle for all the good tips!!

what does this mean: exorbitant rates - high or low prices?

is there any price difference in shopping Nishat linen at Dubai Outlet Mall or do they sell them at same prices at all Dubai stores?

So its ok to bargain at Meena Bazar shops? but not other areas?

I am not too much of a JJ fan for myself but would love to buy a few nice outfits for my baby boy and his lovely dad:)

what about the tailors? what do they charge and where do I find them?

planning to buy textiles from Nishat linen at Dubai Outlet Mall and get them stiched from Dubai somewhere. need to renew my winter shalwar kameez wardrobe.

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

There are very few winter pieces at Nishat Linen. Lamcy had 3 or 4 suits, and Dubai Outlet Mall had about 6 or 7. The others were still the summer lawn collection. A sateen collection Nishat is DHS180.

You have to bargain at Meena Bazaar! Prices are exorbitant. In the summer, they were charging DHS280 for Sana Safinaz lawn, DHS150 for Gul Ahmed normal lawn, etc.

Stitching is available in Meena Bazaar, but I've never had it done, so I don't know about the quality or price.

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

what a shame. I was looking so much forward to finally have a winter shalwar kamez collection!!!

when did you see those winter items? do you think they would have more variety by now?

and what prices should I pay in Meena bazar for Gul Ahmed and the other brans? what is a big no no price?

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

Saturday. The said that more collections are coming soon. I didn't go to Meena bazaar this time, so I don't know what their current prices would be. Last winter, Gul Ahmedkhaddar started at 110 or 120.

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

ok that gave me some hope:D I am going there in 2 weeks time so hopefully they will have khaddar and linen at Nishat Linen and Gul Ahmed at Meena BAzar.

also found out there is a Khaadi outlet in Dubai Outlet Mall. have u been there? what kind of products do they sell? do they sell shalwar kameez or just tunics?

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

khaadi is also in festival centre but mostly they r carrying shafon i went 2 nishat last weekend they just got few khadder stiched shirt pieces they didnt have any latest winter collection last year i bought gul ahmed fabric from century mall n prices were eqvialent 2 oakistan i have a tailer in international city i give him designs from magazines n he copies them 4 me if u need any info about tailer i l pm u the details :)

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

I dont mind paying a few hndred dinar for a suit. just want some of the latest winter collection of gul ahmed, nishat or some of the other leading pakistani brands. where do u think I can find that?

oh and please do send me your tailors contact info and adress. how much does he charge for stiching one suit?

The khaddar shirts u saw at Nishat, were they long kameez style or tunic style?

is there any place in Dubai where I can buy khadar, linen or any other winter fabric- either ready made or stiched?

I havent been to Pakistan for years and just need to renew my wardrobe desperately. specially after I gained some kg after baby...

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

I have heard that it can be difficult finding pakistani food in the malls . where can we get some Pakistani cuisine? need to have masala food in the 3 weeks stay we have:)

Also what are the prices for shalwar kameez in Dubai? what can be defined as ok prices versus rip off prices?

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

Oops! Forgot to mention them. I was NOT impressed with their selection, so they easily slipped my mind! They had very few materials, and mostly stitched garments. Tunics, semi formals, and a few suits.

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

That's the WRONG attitude to have in Dubai, especially when the original Pakistani price is less than about 100 dirhams! Don't set yourself up to get ripped off!

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

Meena Bazaar is a souq area. You'll find many fabric shops, gold shops, etc. Junaid Jamshed has a branch there. The Pakistani materials are clustered in a group of shops around Vavas.

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

thanks a bundle:)

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai

just wondering where Satwa Rolla MArket i located? Is it part of the souk market in Meena Bazar?or located elsewhere?

Re: Pakistani fashion in Dubai
