Pakistani culture prides itself on family values, extensive consultation and mutual decisions and traditions. In North America, we all miss family reunions during summer vacations; we reminisce our cultural connections and indigenous channels of linking with one another. To revive the experience, Community Networking Convention and Expo 2008 is an invaluable occasion for families.
Community Networking Convention and Expo will be an opportunity for the Pakistani community to come together and to network with one another for the first time in the history of North America. To do so, 35 to 4o social, cultural and religious organizations will address community issues. Moreover, the members of our community will develop an understanding with one another in order to take the right step towards progression. With the help of entire community, we hope to find solutions to some of the issues that we face today.
The mission of the Community Networking Convention and Expo is to align issues of the Pakistani American community with the mainstream so as Americans we can build a stronger and safer America. A more daunting challenge is: as a community we have never gathered in large numbers to exchange thoughts and ideas in a comfortable and relaxed atmosphere!
The vision of Networking Convention and Expo is to give a collective front to all -regardless of socio-economic background and education. Here, everyone - young and old, well-read and moderately educated, professionals and homemakers - will have thought-provoking conversations in ways that will impact and influence our lives positively. In doing so, we will also be able to bring together infinite networks, programs and resources from within our community. More than 30 organizations from East Coast to West Coast will assist us in this endeavor.
With their cooperation, Expo will cultivate ideas through various programs such as workshops, dialogues, discussions, seminars, speeches and writings. Issues will be identified and debated by world renowned intellectuals and speakers.
In our times, it is essential to create a cultural space not only for our children, but for our adults and seniors as well. This convention will provide a forum for inter-cultural and inter-generational congregation; it will allow us not only to connect with new generation, but to reconnect with our tradition and history, while helping us integrate into American culture.
In Contrast to the serious nature of our discussions, Networking Convention and Expo has also planned for an extensive array of entertainment programs and events. This is a fantastic occasion to enjoy summer fun alongside fellow Pakistanis in a first class facility located in sunny Orlando. It’s a great family vacation idea, right here in Disney’s backyard, with entertainment and events the whole family will enjoy.
Networking Convention & Expo will be your four day long stay at Rosen Shingle Creek, Orlando, Florida from August 7th to August 10th 2008. All entertainment events will take place after 6 in the evening as other events will be taking place during the day time, starting from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
