Pakistani Drama's

I am not an avid watcher but on my trip to Pakistan I realized people are crazed out after some of these drama’s .

Though I just didnt appreciate the level of negativity many of these drama’s are spreading , relatives said , they originate from the real life . All the stuff that they show in these programmes has somewhere got its origination in the real lives of people .

What do you think?

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

Well, it depend. My cousins in Lahore, who work, don’t come home until the evening so they don’t have as much time to watch one drama after another. My cousins who live in a smaller city, who don’t work, are either doing the housework…or watching dramas in their spare time.

Yes, I agree…the originate from real life. Have you heard the saying that, “Art imitates life”…? Paintings, stories, dramas reflect the issues and trends and values and way of life in a society.

Ironic thing is that as a viewer you feel disgust for the evil/cunning mother-in-law or nand or jhetani or devrani that is in the drama. So, do the real life dramay-baaz auratain recognize their own character failings when they watch the actors displaying their very own sick mentality in the soap operas?

Are these dramas providing people with lessons to learn? OR…is the frequency of these dramas perhaps having the opposite effect…of making people either more immune to such nefarious scheming..or maybe it’s making them more paranoid…and more on their guard in relationships? Something to think about. Sometimes people get “ideas” from bad things.

The last drama I watched was Numm with Fawad Khan. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen anything on screen that looks worth watching.

I find it disturbing to see younger actors like Sanam Saeed playing the role of “elderly” folks in drama with white hair…and really smooth, youthful, wrinkle-free skin. It looks very unrealistic. Just seeing a jhalak of such scenes puts me off to seeing the whole drama. Be reasonable when assigning roles.

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

RV I agree to some extent that the basic characters get chosen through real life experiences , perhaps even the storyline may be someone’s real life story , but the constant repeat of negative values , I dont know what they are trying to achieve . Every other drama revolves around divorce, slapping women , reprimanding wives , kicking them out , lust etc . I feel showing too much of this crap just makes it slowly acceptable to a society .

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

The only Pakistani drama that I can sit and watch without turning off is … BULBULAY..

Cheap silly partial-comedy but still there is something that I can watch. No, not khubsurat. May be momo.

Other than that my mom is a YUGE fan of Pakistani dramas and whenever i enter she is busy in watching one in her room. And I’m like i’ll sit with you only if these soap shows arent running. Too much drama in those dramas..

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

koi comedy ke mood me ho toh ye dekhe

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

Don’t have much time to watch these dramas but I know my mom does occasionally and she tells me about them and they all sound SO depressing. I can’t deal with it. They almost all have the same storyline too (cheating husband, second wife, in-law abuse, etc). I don’t find them engaging and I think the lessons taught are not very applicable to people living in the west.

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

It was terrible… Neither funny nor a good moral. It teaches to take revenge using innocent people.

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

My wife likes to watch these dramas quite a lot, whenever she has time. I don’t.

The last drama I watched was “Jackson Heights” and I have to admit that was quite good.

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

I did not see it this way. I found it comic throughout except it’s strange end but yes, you are right,

Re: Pakistani Drama’s

There was nothing funny in it… Even the direction was terrible
