the latest or favourite

I think these two criteria are contradictory. However, I will list my all-time favourites:
1) Tanhaayian: The story revolves are two sisters, Zara Ahmed (Shehnaz Sheikh) and Saniya Ahmed (Mareena Khan). They lose their parents to a plane crash, are consequently forced to abandon their home, move to another city and live with their aunt (played by Badar Khalil). Both of them find different ways to deal with the tragedy. The cast for this drama was brilliant and the story line virtually perfect. I've watched it at least 20 times and there is no fault with this drama. As I said, it is perfect and probably the best drama that PTV ever telecast.
The cast includes Shehnaz Sheikh, Mareena Khan, Asif Raza Mir, Behroz Sabzwari, Badar Khalil, Qazi Wajid, Yasmeen Ismaeel and a couple of other great actors who I forget.
ps. I will add more as I go along... If you think you've had enough please, stop me. I can go for a long time. :)
Sadayein
It's about this man who leaves his wife and two little children cause he thinks Pakistani women are ignorant. So, he goes off to England and marries a woman who is half-white, half-Pakistani.
20 years later, he returns to Pakistan and wants to be reunited with his family. I will leave it at that.
Chamak
This is the best drama I have seen so far. It's about a wealthy aristocratic Pakistani family. They lack morales, ethics and are extremelely selfish and greedy individuals. It's really good. Their lives are chaotic, they treat those around them with disrespect cause they think they are all mighty and powerful cause they have money ... their behaviour eventually leads to their destruction .... I'll leave it at that.
Landa Bazaar
I never watched a full episode of this. It just looks very good.
These are all old (about a year old), but I haven't watched any dramas lately. :)
Mehndi and Pehla Pyar..
Behlava - Maria Wasti, Sara Chodhury
Chamak - I agree with all Mehnaz said except that the family is aristrocratic. It is anything but that. Very chichori family. New money.
Sawan- Family oriented. Love, sacrifise, relationship, respect, family bonds, you name it and this play delivers. From the sound track to performences, dialogues, production values everything is top notch.
Muqaam- Love and jealousy. Very linear storyline and perhaps that's the reason why I consider it one of the best. Uzma Guilani truly excels in the her role of over protective and envous mother.

Well, the family (IMHO) think they are aristocratic ... you are right though. It is new wealth so their harqatein are cheap.
ULJHAN is one of my favorite dramas
its a good family oriented drama
yup that’s right :k:
Dhuwan: I don’t think I need go in synopsis for this one as I don’t think there is any Pakistani who at least hasn’t heard of this play and doesn’t know what it’s about. The first play (if you don’t count Andhera Ujala) to put our Police Force in a heroic and postive limelight, I think.
Alpha Bravo Charlie: When it was started back in '96 or ‘97 everyone was like, "oh another drama on army recruits’ life." But it was totally otherwise. ABC knocked everyone’s socks off and was an instant hit. After all it was directed by our wizard, Shoaib Mansoor.
These two are from the 90’s, from 80’s and the era before there is, Unkahi, Tanhayan, Waris, Deewar and lots of others. ![]()
You have to watch the following as mentioned by some guppies:
- Chamak
- Muqaam
- Sadaein
- Thanhaiyahn
- Sawan
- Dhop Kinare
- Ankahi
Excellent dramas!
my all time favourite drama “dohan (smoke)”
star* nabeel, and various other artists this was tyhe best drama of 1994 and still is one of the all time gr8s, those who have seen it would agree.
basically its about 5 men who are friends, who although have their seperate daytime jobs but during nights they take out wrong-doers like the dakoos who are damaging pakistans reputation.
its very emotional and at the same time very creative, there are romantci moments and depressing moments, very touching + in the end they complete their mission of killing all major baddies and the ring leader himself (nayyur ejaz)but they dies 2 in the end saving the nations pride or wats left of it, ![]()
five star * drama for me the best…
sawan star * kashif, saira, sawariya, qawi, farhana, faisal, etc
full of love, emotions, pride of traditions, sacrifices etc just a gr8 drama with lots of ooosss and aaaasssss. ![]()
