A: Pakistani culture is refined Hindu culture.
B: It doesn't differ any from Indian/Hindu culture.
C: Unfortunately, in Pakistan, our culture dictates religion, although it should be the other way round.
D: Pakistani culture is not in accordance with Islam.
zman is right its nothin like it should be but it snot our fault weve benn joined with hindus for such a long time i guesswe kinda forgot what our culture should be and there is no one to remind us, im very lucky cuz my parents r very strict about that they r allwayz tellin me things about islam and culture and they dont let me a certin type of way all this good stuff.

but like..
i hve questions..
1)if pakistani culture is refined indian culture, and is not in accordance with islam...
then what has it been refined for?
and who refind it? and why?
2) is indian culture,a hindu culture?
if yes,(as stated by you) then shall the muslims abandon it altogether? is it possible?
3)how do you define culture?
base the relationship of culture and religion ob your definition
Anti sahib,

if you don't mind, I would take a crack on it.
Pakistani culture have strong elements of Indian/Hindu traditions due to the fact that muslims in India (who came from Iran/Arab)coexisted with Hindus for hundreds of years and since then Hindus and muslims took each others traditions gradually and now what we see in pakistani culture is the result of that. No body in particular refined pakistani culture. Cultures emerge and get shaped by the process of time and the flexibility of people pertaining to traditions.
Yes, Indian culture is of Hindu based reasoning. And yes, we should try to get rid of Rasumaat that are practiced and have no legality in Islam. You can't abandon things like traditions in a heart beat, it takes knowledge and open-mindness on behave of society to gradually get rid of any elements.
like, this is a tough one... :)
I would say that Culture is a result of a mixture of people's idealogy/life style.

Like, i'd like 2 take a 2nd crack at it.
Since our culture dictates religion, therefore we mixed our religion with the hindu culture. During this mesh all the hindu idol worshipping and other ideologies that were against the Islamic principles were sifted out and Lo and behold the Paki culture was born. Basically, our Pakistani culture gave the hindu culture an Islamic mask to wear.
Mere dost Anti bhai, culture develops over time and is lost over time. Therefore, to filter all the hindu impressions from our Pakistani culture will take some time and definately a lot of effort.
I would closely define culture as how Imranz bhai has described. Sorry for not having an original thought on the 3rd question.
Like, I'm sweating from having to think so much. Behind all the "like this and like that" there is an intelligent person. Your thought processes are good - Anti Socrates.

"Culture is a result of a mixture of people's idealogy/life style."
thanx imranz,
and thankyou very much zman..
like.... its all getting bit easier for me to understand... much easier..
okay...
1) Religions came just a few times ago... the indus valley civilation is a zillion times older than hinduism or islam...
it is one of the oldest civilazions in the world.
lets, for a minute, call it the "indus valley culture"
basing the discussion on your definition,
please explain what is "hindu culture"
and what is its relation to the "indus valley culture?"
2) as we have been living together, there must be some impact of islam on the "hindu culture" too...
should the hindus remove that impact?
if yes, is 50 years an enough time to remove each other's impact which has been formed over thousands of years?
if not, then how long will it take?
3) current situation suggets that the "indian culture" and "pakistani culture" are getting even more closer to each other, even though they're being stopped by all possible methods.
the languages urdu and hindi are getting even more similar to each other..
can this be stopped?
and is there any example in the history?
4) is it right to stop the cultures to mix together? if yes, then what koranic verses will you base your decision on?
