Pakistani Cricket

old topic…but worth debating

so this lad sarfraz somehow averages higher than asad shafiq, taufeeq umar, mohammd hafeez, azhaar ali, khuram manzoor, and ahmad shezad in first class… mind boggling but correct!

will u believe that none of these players (asad, azhar, taufeeq, hafeez, khuram) average in 40s in first class?..for me, that is enough…they are all pathetic players and will always be pathetic…if you do not average in high 40s or mid 50s on dead pitches against a low quality attack, how will you perform at the international level? no way…maybe one or 2 good series on dead pitches but your inherent mediocrity will catch up with you …PERIOD!

comparable transactions? well most of indian and aussie batsmen have batting averages in mid 50s and some even in 60s in first class…rahane, pujara, kohli, rohit sharma… just check the record.

anyway…somehow this sarfraz guy averages 41 after playing freaking 110 first class matches…over 35 fifties and 7 100s with a double century…like him or hate him but he averages more than all of your front end batsmen minus misbah, younis…aab kaya bolon main!

now get this…in first class matches, sarfraz averages more than any other wicketkeeper batsman in pakistan’s cricket history…YES you read it correctly…in Pakistan’s history..i checked everyone…he averages more than taslim arif, rashid latif, moeen khan, imtiaz ahmaad, saleem yousaf, kamran akmal…rahay naam allah ka!

and now this…current pakistani players who have batting average > 40s are fawad alam (55), haaris ali (52), umar akmal (49) and shoaib maqsood (43) but hey all of them never play test matches for us…kidhar jaoon! fawad alam ko t20 may khila diya…lol

ab Pakistan cricket ko joke na kahoon to aur kaya kahoon…can you imagine any country where players who average in 30s are in the team all the time and those who average in 50s are sitting outside…

and it is not just discrimination…haris ali, umar akmal, shoaib maqsood are all punjabi…fawad alam is from karachi…shear incompetency, IQ levels in -ve, egoistic, uneducated officials/selectors, and yes regional tasub as well

Re: Pakistani Cricket

Also the only country where a leading politician is not a citizen of the country (sorry to bring in politics)

Anything is possible in Pakistan. Fawad Alam deserves a place in test along with all the names you mentioned in your post. Hafeez is not needed in tests as he should be considered a bowling alrounder rather than a pure batsman (limited overs specialist). Chota akmal should be in the team since he is in a different league compared to shahzad, shafiq and manzoor

Re: Pakistani Cricket

shezad is talented....and he does average 40...barely but 40 .....but still less than sarfraz's average lol.....

i would put shazad and umar akaml in same league though

Re: Pakistani Cricket

Well … this is Pakistan.

Waisay … one should not even mention these things, as mentioning truth and quoting facts and showing records, means being racist for some  … maqsad yea hay kay … keep quite and do not say anything because we love discrimination, nepotism, and bigotry, but please do not shame us by mentioning.

Anyhow, if we look at world top batsmen since cricket history record started, who played minimum 50 innings and have average 50 or above. There are only 7 from Pakistan. Fawad tops the list … only 30 players in history have first class average above Fawad. But then who cares.

On international list, their position is:

31[SUP]st[/SUP] = Fawad Alam
53[SUP]rd[/SUP] = Miandad
63[SUP]rd[/SUP] = Hanif Muhammad
73rd = Haris Sohail
83[SUP]rd[/SUP]= Zaheer
110[SUP]th[/SUP]= Misbah
115[SUP]th[/SUP] =Inzamam

Only 118 players who played over 50 innings, have first class average above 50 in test history (till now)

Fawad Alam has highest average amongst Pakistani batsmen and ranks 31st in overall list of international first class players. Still, he got 3 test Match, and there also he did not failed (even though 3 test match is no criteria to judge any batsman), as he got 1 century in 3 tests, became first Pakistani to make century outside Pakistan in debut and has test average over 40.

Second players in the list, who is more unfortunate than Fawad (as Fawad still got 3 test matches and few ODIs) is Haris Sohail. He received little recognition from corrupt Pakistan full of nepotism, discrimination, and bigotry, as he only got 4 ODIs. He ranks 73rd in overall list of international first class players.

Another surprising thing is that, almost all mentioned as top achievers in first class cricket are world known top test batsmen except few who could not play test match because of injury or discrimination (as that is true with Indian batsmen too)
