Pakistani cold feet

What a low life.

Tragic!

Re: Pakistani cold feet

unfortunately - or maybe fortunately - i know of a few weddings being called off. two of them, the bride did all the shopping, hall booked, etc..and their weddings were called off. now both of these girls are single and looking.

another of my relatives who was supposed to get married this summer, called it off at the beginning of this year...the guy is now engaged to someone else and is still getting married this summer.

its all kismat, i think.

mostly paki weddings get called off due to haq mehr issues, or pathetic jahez issues, or even if the guy's father didn't get the proper "welcome" on the day of the mehndi etc etc. the thing is, that whereas such small issues arise in all weddings last minute, thats when the guy and girls' willingness to be understanding and make their parents calm down/behave like humans vs just sittin back and watching the wedding dissipate come into play. if the guy's sure he wants to marry this girl, he'll know when his parents are unhappy n he'll make sure he pursuades them to not start a fight, whereas if a guy doesn't want the wedding to happen he'll make sure he instigates something in his mom's mind about the "looks" the girl was givin her or the cost of the sherwani he was gifted etc etc.
