Pakistani Clothing Stores in and around New York City

Hi all,

I am getting married soon and really need new Pakistani clothes. I’d like some very specific recommendations for semi-formal and formal Pakistani clothing stores in and around New York City. Jackson Heights? Edison? Hicksville? My family is spread out around the east coast now and I’m kind of alone on this now. Your help is much appreciated!

Your best bet would be private sellers, who do this out of home. if you want i can give you a list of a few that i have tried. otherwise, jackson heights has really tacky stuff with the exception of a few stores. in edison, you will find all indian stores, excpt for Jiya Designs, which is all high end designer stuff.

there are a few shops in Brooklyn, on Coney Island avenue between Ave I and Dorchester Road (that's about 8 blocks I think) that sell decent stuff for (what I think) is a reasonable price (plus they bargain too). They have Pakistani designs.

Home based designers are probably your best bet. I would even contact home based designers from GS. In NY, Jackson Hts is a definite no unless you are looking for sarees. Probably few good stores for that. For Pakistani clothes I would stick to shops in Hicksville. There aren't much but whatever stores are there, they aren't too bad, pricy though.

Avoid Jackson Heights at all costs. A lot of ppl I know go to Hicksville and Brooklyn.
