A pakistani friend of mine (and a proud muslim Jatt), has said that there a lot of pakistani chura and chamars. He said he has a simple test to weed these fellows out.
If you ask them about their caste, they will say “I have no caste, I am a muslim”, “I am a simple normal person” or have some arab last name. or have a jatt/rajput last name and not look jatt (darker skin, smaller height).
If they reply with any of the above, then they are basically chura or chamars.
I have to agree, Indian Punjab is about 30% chamar/chura and most have jatt/rajput last names. So it is very likely that a lot pakistani jatt/rajput are infact fakers chamars/churas.
All muslim jatts wanting to research their history; please visit www.jattworld.com.
Muslim Jatts are the same as Sikh Jatts. We share the same last names.
In the 12th century, sheikh farid converted 12 jatt tribes to Islam from hinduism. Some converted to Sikhism.
Don’t worry, there are a lot back in the country and even in the West who take pride in these caste differences (unchi, neechi zaat hence you also see gang rapes back home due to ‘illegal contacts’ between unchi neechli zaat).
Man, I am starting to agree with my friend here. He says Pakistanis are hindu muslims (not true muslim or hindus but charba of both.. ).
I (and most Jatts) see nothing wrong in being proud of who we are and who are ancestors were.
We are just studying our ancestory and roots. You will find that Muslim, Sikh and Hindu Jatts are the only ones very proud of our roots and castes.
You will find the pakistani jatts have much more in common with sikh jatts, hindu jatts (lifestyle, language, attitude towards life) than with other pakistanis castes.
All others who talk about religion before castes are the ones who have an inferiority complex about their caste background.
Why is knowing and learning about your caste, roots and heritage = stone age ?
Forgetting your ancestors is equal to cursing your ancestors. Original Jatts were ancestor worshippers and they still play a major role in the jatt psyche. Do you know what Jathera means ? Ask any Jatt, even a muslim jatt.
By the way what caste are you from ? or are you one of those “I have no caste, I am muslim” persons.
i have no caste. i am not muslim
but i know my roots.
this is not a “learning about roots” thread
clearly degrading from the content. (chamars)
i dont think ancestors long dead really give a damn about anything.
I agree with all of what you said, except for the last sentence. Nothing wrong with taking an interest in one’s roots. I myself have taken a keen interest in jatt history, and can trace my own lineage several generations to when we were Sikh. I am american born, a pura angrez, an abcd :D, But this whole calling people chammar, chooray, kaami, maliar, moochi, is outdated, retrogressive, and one of the evils of the feudalistic society which plagues punjab. The rest of the world is progressing and we are busy fighting over a few marla, and beating our chests screaming Asin tan sirf na de e sheikhapura de jatt han..If you are a proud jatt, then please stop belittling others, be aware of your roots, be proud, but dont let it take you over, you make the rest of us jatts look bad…Aik Libri majj baaqi saarian nu liber daindee ai
Who gives a crap... im muslim, ur muslim, that's the only thing that binds all of us together, screw jatt, rajput, punjabi, sindhi, arab, chinese, african etc etc.. You have some nerve putting caste before religion, it's jaahils like you that make pakistan the shiithole that it is :)
They don’t call people like you or Jatt/Gujjar/Arayeen Punjabis (like your friend), and others who believe in caste and crap stuff like that paindooz for nothing
I have an incident to tell you guys it was quiet funny.
About 2 yrs ago I was on my yealry holiday in Lahore, I had done some shopping in a bazaar and was taking a short cut back to my car through a colony. I spotted a name board there ‘Bashir Ahmed Cheema (LLB)’ I thought great a Cheema brother of mine I will pay him a visit I dropped the things off in the car and headed back to the Cheema law office with my uncle.
When I got their I spoke to the guy at the reception and asked if I could meet Mr Cheema he asked my name which I gave and I was told to be seated. After 10 mins me & my uncle went inside the office and we got the shock of our lives, It was the kami of our pind Bashira we use to call him. I was laughing and angry at the same time it was mixed emotions, I said u stupid #'~ who do u think you are? using our clan name? His face dropped and was apologizing this and that, My uncle said if you don’t change this to ur real clan I will burn ur house down back in the village and u will have no law office left, within in a week Bashira Kami moved to Karachi and is practicing their with a new name.
Wow... That's not really funny.. it's jaahil ppl like you who give pakis a bad reputation, youre the ones who carry on these stupid traditions.. u dont find solace in ur religion so u use ur stupid "caste" to put others down and make urselves feel better.
Nothing wrong with learning about your roots and heritage, but since this thread is regarding one’s caste, i will now comment on why learning and having too much pride in your caste is not only stone age, but Jahiliyaah.
Caste system basically divides the society, where one caste is seen as superior to the other. This is in stark contrast to the following:
All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over a black nor a black has any superiority over a white - except by piety and good action. Learn that every Muslim is a brother to every Muslim and that the Muslims constitute one brotherhood.
