This article could have been put in with the other vigils and tributes but I think this deserves a separate thread rather than to be mixed with worldwide candle light vigils. Lot of different groups in Pakistan have offered vigils for the innocents killed. The Pakistani Christian community in Peshawar has cancelled Christmas festivities in advance due to this
LAHORE (Dunya News) – The people of the country on Wednesday held vigil in different cities in remembrance of the martyrs of the Peshawar attack on Army Public School that killed over 132 people including students and faculty members.

Moreover in Lahore, students of different institutions and members of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) lit up candles on different locations to show solidarity with the families of the martyrs and expressed grief over the incident.

Little girls lighted up candles in the Shama Bazaar of Phool Nagar and raised slogans in the support of the Pakistan Army against terrorists.
On the occasion, the locals said that let alone worthy of being called muslims, Taliban are not worthy of being called humans.
They also said that such people want to defame Pakistan on the International platform but they would let this happen.
Furthermore, little students of the allied school Sheikhupura held candlelight vigil in remembrance of the innocent students murdered in the attack and prayed that their families might have courage to face this tragedy.
The young students also expressed a resolve to stand up against this evil and have the people responsible for the terrible loss pay the price of what they have done.
They also said that they are not afraid of terrorists.
Members of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) held candlelight vigil at Dhobi Ghat in Faisalabad.
Whereas members of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and traders lit up candles to express solidarity with the grieving families at Ghanta Ghar. Moreover, different non-governmental organisations (NGOs) lit up candles outside the press club while PAT held vigil in the Kechahri Bazaar. The Bishop of Peshawar on Tuesday announced to cancel Christmas celebrations in Peshawar in wake of the heinous attack on the Army Public School. The Church of Pakistan s Bishop Humpherey Peters also expressed grief over the incident saying that they would continue helping the injured in ways they could long after the world has forgotten about the attack.
**The christian community of Peshawar expressed solidarity with the families of the martyrs and expressed a resolve to be with the bereaved families in this hour of need.

**The Pakistani HIndus of Sindh are holding candlelight vigil on 19th december
Re: Pakistani Christians and Hindus hold vigil across Pakistan for Peshawar tragedy
Apologies for the triple posting of this topic. I thought it was a great and expected gesture of solidarity. Not sure how it happened but if moderators could delete the other threads it would be appreciated. Thanks
Re: Pakistani Christians and Hindus hold vigil across Pakistan for Peshawar tragedy
We all know how much christmas means to Christians. And cancelling its celebrations says how much they are hurt and how much Pakistanis are united at this moment. May this harmony continue to grow and get strength.
Re: Pakistani Christians and Hindus hold vigil across Pakistan for Peshawar tragedy
Great gesture shown by all Pakistanis regardless of their background and religion. Pakistani Hindus and Christians have suffered greatly at the hands of these animals as well.
Re: Pakistani Christians and Hindus hold vigil across Pakistan for Peshawar tragedy
Great, simply great, i still remember those days, I not being a shia use to set a Sabeel of Milk and water for Shias during the muharam, Use to visit and enjoy lots of cakes and sweets during Easter and Xmas...
and then come these religious bigot, they ruined everything and my and our fault was we let them ruin it... this is the time to fix it, our brothers have told us how to, and we should respond in kind.
Re: Pakistani Christians and Hindus hold vigil across Pakistan for Peshawar tragedy
I think this should've been part of the other vigil thread as they are also Pakistanis, we should consider and treat them as Pakistanis instead of "Pakistani Christians" or "Pakistani Hindus".... BTW great gestures !

True. I will find that thread and post these pictures there.
Just wanted to clarify any misconceptions to others. I posted this as separate not because i don't think they are Pakistanis but because they are as Pakistani as anyone else. I thought the other thread for worldwide candlelight vigils was for non-Pakistani vigils so i thought to make a Pakistani specific vigil thread. When i realised it wasn't i posted thiis there as well.
