Marry someone you feel you are compatible with irrespective of where they are living. I will say that it is probably more difficult when marrying someone from Pakistan, as you will have the immigration issues. Though that is not a big deal in itself, there will definitely be adjusting for the person when he comes to the new country leaving everything behind. Keep that in mind and think about what you can handle.
Otherwise mindset, you will only know if you get to know the guy a little as well as the family. There are highly educated people in the US with horrible backwards mentality and also people living in Pak with good moderate way of life overall, so you never know. Basically people of all kinds everywhere, bu tjust know what you are getting into and what you really want.
