Pakistani Bizzare Foods

I was watching the other day Bizzare Food on Travel Channel and was wondring if Pakistan has any food that considerd to be bizzare for the people who are not familiar with pakistani culture.

Siri Paye, Maghaz, Toungue comes to mind but eating these are also norm in some other cultures.

Or is there any pakistani food which is prepared in unconventional ways?

Re: Pakistani Bizzare Foods

^^ Sirilankans Do ;)

I do love to eat Chirrey (Sparrows) Some even in Pakistan dont feel like eating it. Although they are yummy.

Also I have seen poor people eating the feet (not the flashy thighs but feet) of Chicken. That I found a lot bizzare. :/

Re: Pakistani Bizzare Foods

Any bizzarre food is not just Pakistani. Same 'food' is consumed by some other nations.

However, there are other nations who consume very bizzarre items which Pakistani do not...like snakes, cow/sheep or goat skin, insects, frogs and dogs etc.

It's not only poor people who eat chicken feet, it's a Lahori delicacy.

Just because it's eaten in many countries doesn't make it any less bizarre.

Re: Pakistani Bizzare Foods

I would say i have eaten many bizzare foods in my time Allah Toubah.

But in Pakistan everything was okay and there was nothing bizzare that was served up to me in normall settings.

Only in the fauj ka zamana did i try certain foods that would make an animal puke.

Though i dread to say much of the “halal” meat these days might be anything but halal… oh well its not your fault if you eat something which someone else prepared under false name.

Hence why i never eat out these days.. :hehe:

As an example if your ever offered rabbit in northern areas insist you see the feet of the roast… why?

Becuase it’s easy to cut the feet and head off a cat and serve it as rabbit :rotfl:

Dare i say more?

Re: Pakistani Bizzare Foods

bizarre foods is an awesome show. can't believe andrew zimeren eats all that stuff that he does.. but i'm pretty sure he won't go to pakistan since we really don't have any new bizarre foods that he'd be interested in.. he has had brains, tongues and testicles elsewhere so i don't see him visiting pakistan anywhere in future. anthony bourdain on the other hand might visit pakistan..

ojri - stomock
sri-paye

sare le kar per yak kha jate hen.. kuch nahin chodte

Who said it made any less bizzarre?

I have seen people eating live cockroaches, scorpions, raw kangaroo testicles on some shows.

But then this is probably not their regular food, :)

Re: Pakistani Bizzare Foods

sheep tongue , yuck.

you can add cow dung+piss to that list for our 'neighbors'

Re: Pakistani Bizzare Foods

I can't believe you guys are complaining about the Pakistani food so much. You only pick the bad ones out... what a shame

and most of the things you guys mentioned sounds like too much exaggeration for me to even believe. I've always heard praises for Pakistani food, by people who actually -do- eat them.

Hey Plato, this thread is about Bizarre things which are eaten by some people in Pakistan and not how tasty Pakistani food is.

Re: Pakistani Bizzare Foods

speakin of bizarre foods, has anyone tried roasted rooster balls?? in pakistan..
