Can anybody recommend a good banquet hall … not too big, for a small reception with up to 80-100 people? I want some place that is known for having a good stage set up, good food (well, ‘good’ for a banquet hall that is) and that is over all an attractive banquet hall.
I don’t like Candle Banquet Hall or Payal Banquet Hall so they are off the list.
So far on my list is Maple and Woodbine … but Woodbine is too big for the amount of people that are on the list.
I know there are a lot of new halls … but I don’t know their names and I haven’t been there either.
I heard Sagan and Sangam are pretty decent ones (don't know the stage setup in both). Bombay Palace has better stage setup. heard LaGandola is pretty good too. its italian hall.
if you like woodbine then u can ask the manager to accommodate the hall for 100 guests or so. they can do it by putting the separator/wall in between.
btw.. as far as i know, u might not gonna get the pre-stage setup for a small function/or for limited guests. u got to pay the extra for the setup; unless u go for the big halls where stage is already setup but again they will charge you a lot more to fulfill their expenses.
i will suggest you to look for a community hall instead. Erin Mill community hall is pretty good.
ewww, no community hall thank you. I've seen Woodbine and Maple and even Payal accomodate a small number of people. I don't mind paying extra for the stage set up, as long as the hall is nice! I don't want some run down/ghetto hall like Laddi's Banquet Hall.
AJ: No I'm not, but when my time comes, you will be the first to know :p
Mehnaz, if you go with Woodbine, make sure you arrange for the stage decoration yourself. The manager will say he'll arrange it himself, but trust me, you don't want what he can arrange. I saw it at a friend's wedding...and it was not what they'd told him to get done. So for my wedding, we made sure, we directly contacted the stage people and chose what we wanted.
Other than that, their service is really good. The food's great, and their halls are really nice.
Taj Banquet Hall is good...at Steeles/Hwy 400...also Forum Banquet Hall..at Hwy 27/Albion.....Bombay Palace is really nice for that much pple...I know a good stage decorator if ur interested....
Bombay Palace in Brampton is good. They have a small hall as well as a big one. The food is really good. I had my wedding reception there and they looked after every detail.
Crystal Fountain in Markham is good, but it's Italian and you have to arrange the food.
You have to watch out for Payal. My sis had her wedding reception there and when we went early to make sure everything was in order, we found some table clothes that had burn marks from cigarettes. We tried to get them changed but they refused.
