Pakistani Army

Salam wa alaikum wa rehamatullahi wa barakhatahu. Does anyone know the process of joining the pakistani army? What about if you are born and raised in a different country with a different passport, can you still join?

Re: Pakistani Army

**Wa Alaikum Assalaam, **
My guess is Yes! if you can pass their ISSB test, but you will have to give up your US Citizenship, unless things have changed now that we can be dual citizens with Pakistan.

Re: Pakistani Army

Im coming from the uk, so is it a different process? What is the salary of a soldier? I want to be able to provide for others Insha'ALLAH. I have completed one year of medical studies and have some accounting knowledge, but its been a long dream of mine to be in the army. Can i take a year out and join them, and then resume with my studies? Maybe if they need my future assistance i can help Insha'ALLAH...

Re: Pakistani Army

No offense, but i don't think you realise what you will be getting into, good or bad.

Before making such a decision, go live in Pakistan for 6 months.

Re: Pakistani Army

you can finish your studies while being in the army. i dont know if theres much management/accounting edu. in the army but engineering and medicine are pretty good.

pay isnt that great but benefits are the best you could get in pakistan. good luck :k:

Re: Pakistani Army

You may be able to get addmission in Army Medical College, after you graduate they put you through a short course in Kakul or somewhere and get your commision.

For doctors, you will get decent pay plus housing and uniform allowance. but will be moved around a lot every year or two...:(

Re: Pakistani Army

Jazakh'ALLAH Khair for the advice. However i have already lived there for 6 months lol! I can see your point though...

Re: Pakistani Army

Jazakh’ALLAH Khair for the advice! Your right its not about the money either, i just would like to be able to provide for my family back here in the uk as a son should do Insha’ALLAH

Re: Pakistani Army

Woaw! Jazakh'ALLAH Khair for the advice! I also noticed they move around alot, because i have some cousins in the army and some move around all the time! By they way i never been kakul i think, where is that? I thought you meant kabul then lolz!!! :)

Re: Pakistani Army

To join pak army, first you'll have to surrender your citizenship, this process would eb alot easier if you have dual-citizenship, if not, you'll have to apply for Pakistani nationality, a process for which i have no information.....
also, i think you''d be better off joining PAF, which is probably the best branch of pakistan miltary, and alot more respectable, not just in pakistan, but in the world stage too

Re: Pakistani Army

Dear Brother

Its nice to know that you want to join Army. But first get it straight. Do you want to join Army as a soldier or as a Doctor?

For becoming a Soldier, you have to join Pakistan Military Academy (PMA), Kakul in Abbottabad. The prerequisite is FA, FSc or equivalent. First you apply through Army Selection and Recruitmrnt Centres, present in most of the big cities of Pakistan. After filling the forms, one undergoes a preliminary screening test over there. Those who clear it undergo medical checkup. Those medically fit are later called for the ISSB at Kohat, Gujranwala or Karachi. Finally selected individuals are then called to PMA for a two years rigorous training. After successful training and graduation, they ar given commision as a 2nd Lieutenant in different branches of Army. Those in top merit get a chance to choose their branch themselves eg Infantry, Armoured Corps, Artillery, etc tc. Others are allotted different branches as per their performance and recommendations of thier Platoon Commandrs etc. Forein Nationals are probably not allowed but those with dual nationality can apply. In short, these two yars are probably very difficult in terms of physical exertion and rigours of training and not so much in terms of studies.

For joining Army as a Doctor, there are two ways. First is that you become a Doctor at you own from any Medical College and apply for a commision as Captain. Process is the same as above with minor differences. Generally these candidates are called for ISSB sort of exam at Rawalpindi, which is just like every other examof ISSB but without any GTO and physical tasks. Those who are selected are sent either to PMA Kakul or Army Medical Corps Centre Abbottabad for a short course called Basic Military Training (BMT) and are given Short Service Commission as Captain. Second way is to join Army Medical College, Rawalpindi as a Medical Cadet. Pre-requisite is FSc pre-medical or equivalent. Those who apply are subjcted to a difficult written exam with MCQs etc. Those who clear this written test and fall in a certain merit are medically examined at different cities. Rest of the procedure is almost the same as for those who apply after becoming a doctor. Those who are finally selected are admitted to this college and are called AMCOLIANS. There they complete thier study in 5 years and are given Permanent Regular Commission as Captain.

With profound regards from an AMCOLIAN.

Re: Pakistani Army

well i think process has been defined above very well still some 1 wants to know any thing i can guide him well do ask?

Re: Pakistani Army

just another thing

you mentioned you wanted to provide for your parents in the UK.

I dont think you will be able to do that whilst living in pakistan. They would have to be with you in pakistan for you to provide for them.

Good luck in what ever you chose to do.
