We the undersigned wish to lodge our protest at the conduct of ICC Umpire Darrell Hair during the 4th Test Match England V’s Pakistan, at the Brit Oval, London.
In accusing the Pakistan team of in essence cheating and playing unfairly Mr. Hair has not only tarnished the reputation of the Pakistani team but also the whole nation. Further to this in refusing to continue playing on the 5th day and thus defusing the situation Mr. Hair has made the gravest error of judgement. This incident is in a long line of controversial decisions Mr. Hair has made, the majority of these incidents have involved either Pakistan or another Asian team. There is now clear and serious doubt as to the impartiality of Mr. Hair’s decisions both on and off the field of play.
Bearing all this in mind we feel that the International Cricket Council (ICC) now based in Dubai need to investigate Mr. Hair’s conduct and remove him from the Elite panel of umpires as it is clear and has been for sometime that he is not fit to umpire at the highest level.
