Dear Guys Assalam-o-Alaikum
I don’t claim to be poet, but I was very much influenced by my father Mr Afzal Ferozepuri (late), who happened to be Punjabi Poet. In my opinion, Punjabi poetry was more difficult than Urdu, so I ventured a bit in Urdu and English, that too, quite a long time ago. As being a doctor, professional commitments hardly leave any time for such brain storming. Nonetheless, I would like to share one of my English Poems with you guys. It is in connection with Jashan-e-Azadi Celeberations at the GupShup Forum. It may not be a work of art, but for me, it is one of my best endeavours so far. It is a small poem with only 8 lines. It is written in such a way, that the first letter of each line, when read vertically, joins to make the word PAKISTAN.
PAKISTAN
Pray to Allah Almighty,
And show some faith n dignity,
Koran be at your side,
Islam giving you a pride,
Sunnah be a light for you,
That will glow and let you do,
All the acts to make you feel,
Nothing but this land is real.
PAKISTAN Zinda Baad for ever
