It is all very well to point the finger at everyone else and ignore the indiscpline by Shoaib. The problem with him is that while he does what probably every other player does once in a while, he does it all the time. He thinks he is bigger than the game, when the reality is that he is not half the player Akram, Waqar or Imran were. Yet they never behaved in such arrogant and silly way. He ditches Pakistan’s team when it needs him most. He suddenly becomes injured when things are not going Pakistan’s way, yet is seen jet skiing or spending his nights in discos. It is that what hurts Pakistani supporters. There is no place for such shenanigans in the Pakistan team.

Lastly yes lets keep things in perspective and see him for what he is… A brilliant bowler but one with an extremely arrogant manner and one who really does not care for Pakistan, only himself. I have followed Pakistan’s cricket team since the late 60’s and have never seen such indisciplined or arrogant player as him. To me Pakistan comes first and really I couldn’t care less for Shoaib if he is not committed to Pakistan’s cause, regardless of his talent.

If you were to read my previous posts on Sa u wud see that it is Sa supporter like myself who are the first to castigate him for his indiscipline, big mouth and bigger than life imagery. We are more than willing and honest in our aknowledgment of Sa problems and here lies the difference, whereas Sa supporters are willing to accept Sa for his misgivings and manage him on that basis, his opponents refuse to accord him the benefit of a second chance.

Purpose of ‘finger-pointing’ is to make a proper comparative analysis. Its all very good to point the finger at Sa all the time, sometimes we should try and look outside the box and beyond the media created frenzy. Sa is no angel, I dont know how many times I have said that yet its never enough. He has been forced out of the national team for one year, missed the Indian and WI series and treated like a newcomer for his selection in the prospective English series. If idea is to rub his nose in the ground to teach him a lesson, then that objective has been achieved.

You rightfully said Sa is because of Pakistan and not the other way around, like I said before I totally agree with you, the same principle applies to Pakistani cricketing fans. We all should want the best for Pakistan and not compromise on merit, ethics and name of pakistan.

Yeah ask yourself why Bond’s level of commitment is not questioned despite his injuries and why shoiab’s is? Bhai sahib yahee to sariee batt ha…..why no one ever questioned Imran or waqar’s injuries? Because they had public trust which unfortunately Mr Akhtar does not and there is no one else to be blamed for that except shoaib himself. Such was the timing of his various injuries that now it has cast a shadow of doubt over his legitimate injuries too. That is the whole point.

Any there is a huge difference between the WI tour and current England tour. What are you talking about? The whole dynamics has changed in last 9 months. Pakistani team has learnt to survive without shoaib. Whether sohaib was out of the time for the Indian tour because of an injury or not, the fact of the matter is that the Team Pakistan not only survived this tough tour but actually put a great show. And for the WI tour, Shoaib was simply rejected. A great blow to his inflated ego…And frankly speaking, we had a pretty reasonable WI tour. We beat them comprehensively in ODIs and the test series was drawn. The first test which we lost was because of Inzi and Yoyo’s absence. So sir jee, a lot has changed in last 9 months. Shoiab knows really well that time is slipping out of his hands. Do you know that in the last few months, he has been sending several messages through private sources to Coach Woolmer that why is he ruining his career? huh…What I am trying to point out is that Shoaib is panicked and knows really damn well that Pakistani team has learnt to survive without him or at least the team management has the courage to kick his ass even when he is fit. There you go…That is why Shoaib Bhai jan is now running at his full speed in a trial match to prove his fitness…Run Shoaib Run before time run you over …run for your own sake if you cant run for Pakistan…but for God sake, do run at your full speed…finally

Bond’s commitement has not been questioned cause he doesnt play for Pakistan and his side is captained by a man who produces results with as a very medicore team. I hope you dont try to compare Flemmings’s captaincy with that of Inzimam.

I dont know what your defination of reasonable WI tour is but the last tour of WI was the golden oppurtunity for us to win our first ever series in West Indies and we came back with a drawn test series.

By the way dynamics of the game have changed, Pakistan cricktet have changed, Youhana changed his religion so a whole heck of a lot has been changed but what was done about Akhtar’s attitude ? Who gave him a little talk and if so why wasnt that done ahead of the West Indian tour so we could take the strognest possible Pakistan XI ? He was dropped and then we had a long break and in the middle of all that Inzimam made a fool of himself by crying and moannig not be part of World XI. Although I believe he deserved a spot in the World XI but acting childishly after not being selected was not the way to go about it.

As far as Woolmer with a neutral view having problem with Shoaib is concerned please tell me ICC with a neutral view also picked Shoaib to play for World XI (only Pakistani in both Tests and ODI’s) so wouldnt that means he is the best player in Pakistan.

Can I suggest a truce between anti and pro Shoaib camps. He has been chosen in the squad and let his bowling or his antics do the talking. We will all know in a few weeks time. Till than lets all chill (Including me).
