Pakistan win series against Spain

The Spanish hockey team fought back well to deprive Pakistan of the 2nd test match win played at Terrasa Stadium Barcelona on Sunday. According to the PHF secretary Brig. Mussarratullah Khan, Pakistan were leading 1-0 at half time trough a goal scored by short corner expert Sohail Abbass.

Pakistan doubled the lead in 2nd half through Mohammad Sarwar but the Spanish team did not lose heart and equalized the goals . Later the match ended in a 3-3 draw. The good thing about the series for Pakistan was that it’s forwards started to realize their responsibility of scoring goals, not leaving it alone to Sohail Abbass. On the other hand the alarming fact remains that Pakistan is still struggling in defending the lead which indicates that the team officials would still to work very hard to over come the mistakes of the half line and defense. Both teams got four short corners each, Spain scoring on three occasion while Pakistan could only capitalize on one. This is another area where Sohail Abbass and bench will have to concentrate more.

Any ways there is nothing heartening more than the win and Pakistan can now travel to Germany with piece of mind, having no bad memory of loosing. Pakistan now play a test against Germany on June 20th and then play a four nation in Hamburg from June 22 to 24 alongside Germany, Holland, and South Korea.

Thank you! Glad to know there are some following Hockey too! :)

Does Radio Pakistan still transmit running commentary on the matches, like it used to a few years back? Which frequencies? On the I-net?
Do you have the timings of the matches?
