All a bit odd here. TV commentators keep mentioning the “crammed” ground and other such terms, but it’s fairly clear there are plenty of empty seats and not just empty because the occupants have popped off for a beer or a personal break. I suspect boundless hype and over egging the pudding might be a feature of the tournament in the weeks to come … the ICC does love people to be “on message”

Yeah let's just hope they do. With only Malik and Akmal to come, these two have to score the bulk of the remaining runs. That's why batting deep till 8 or 9 is so important in ODIs, more so against better teams like Australia. Afridi should replace one of the three Kaneria, Rao or Rana when his ban is over.
