Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Under the circumstances to foresee a score of 450++lead can pose a daunting task but never the less, it would be a 'new' inning for Pakistan and they should play it llike a 'New' ininng without getting intimidated with the 1st inning failures.
Its my gut feeling that Shahid and Salman + Bazid khan will pull out the stuck bunny from the hat.
3rd day wicket might hold some consolation for the visitors to bat on,,,,,take it as a turning point if you may, but I love this wierd game. :D
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
haan bhai, atleast it has some uncertainity and excitment. Unlike Indian series
huh…Indians are so predictable ![]()
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Seriously ,, while I consider Indians as no match to Paki's panache ever , other teams and WI are currently toying a wounded prey clearly unable to defend it self.
Things would have been different if Pakistan was playing its full strength.
And bowling is not even a factor here.
They manage to haul all 10 WI wickets on day one,,,
And seeing the wicket turning but can be seen as getting easier and easier at the same time,,
This match shall have an exiting finish,,,, Shabir+Afridi will shine through n later with the bat +Bazid & Butt. on the side,,,
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Pakistan is unquestionably one of the best one day outfits, but there lies its problem. Being a good one day team does not mean they can play test cricket. In recent history, Pakistan has floundered when it comes to test cricket and the main reason for this weakness is its reliance on itsy bitsy players who are very good for onedays but cannot raise the standard of their game when needed in 5 day test matches.
Why is it that Afridi opens in test matches? Was'n this fact well established that Afridi is not fit to open in test matches, yet we keep on experimenting. How long does it take to find a regular opening pair? Butt has done a good job, but will hv his butt kicked if he doesnt deliver in just a series or so. Look what happened to the other guys (Taufiq Umer et al,). Shadab Kabir, Hasan Reza, Faisel Ather perform exceptionally well in domestic circuit but cannot find their place in the Pak team, why? Cause they are specialist batsmen for the 5day format who cannot qualify for the job as per this one day focused management.
Same goes for bowling. Our front line bowling did not deliver, Rana has yet to take a single wicket in the 14 WI wickets taken by bowlers like Afridi and Razzak who cannot in any way be called front line bowling. Yes, Shabbir and Kaneria were also in the wickets, but second inning has started with Shabbir & Rana being completely dry on a wicket where WI main strike bowlers hv ripped thru the Paki batting lineup. Why has Shahid Nazir not given a single chance to show his talent on this tour? Strike Bowler who led Faiselabad to victory in the domestic circuit, but cannot find a place in the first 11 while rana who was never considered to be a test match bowler is being persisted, what gives here? One day glory syndrome....
Pakistan can still save this match, but that will be close to a miracle, I like miracles so keepin my fingers crossed....
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Pakistanis win once in a while and they think they can beat anyone.
Go Wnidies Go…show the cricket world Pakistan team is just flash-in-the-pan. A good team does not rely on just one or two players - like Pakistan does with inzi and YoYo. ![]()
Go Windies Go.
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Aalsi, the phentee your team received at the hands of the Pakistani team is really hurting. Now you have to hide behind the performance of other teams to satisfy your brusied and inflated ego. ![]()
Never mind, take it easy India will win once they play BD or Kenya.
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
haha - one or two players… man… you gotta watch more cricket - esp. if you’ve fogotten what Inzi, Yoyo, Younis, Kaneria, Afridi, Akmal did in the tests against India… and what Rana, Razzaq, Afridi et al. did in the ODIs.
This is the best teamwork Pak has displayed in years. There’s a difference between “depending” on one or two players and having your most experienced players anchor your innings, and provide the soft support by virtue of their presence in the team.

Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
The lead is already nearing 400...
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Hmming is not helping, just try and stop the extras, that would help us in a big way, and while I am writing this, Afridi bowls a BIG NO BALL!!!
infact twice in a row???![]()
Re: Pakistan vs West Indies: 1st Test @ Barbados
Oh the irony! You are talking about the team who can’t even take a crap without Lara leading it. Really. You need to watch more cricket and keep your mouth shut.
