Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

lets see if we can establish a new duck record. Shouldnt be difficult with the players we have. I hope we lose this match in order that PCB is jolted into action and kick all these free loaders out of the team.

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

Thanks for opening the thread before IS :k:

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

Sri Lanka and Jayawardene know they ONLY have to WIN THE TOSS and the series will be theirs

Win the toss and bat first against Pakistan, put a good score on the board - even a modest 220 +/- total will do - get Misbah and Azhar out early (they might offer some resistance) >>> the rest of the pathetic batting will fold like a deck of cards

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

Gul should be dropped after pathetic displays in the last two games
Younis should be dropped as well (though think it's unlikely)

M Hafeez
Farhat - reluctantly; you know things are bad when people are putting Farhat in the lineup.
Azhar
Umar Akmal (last chance for this over-hyped chichora)
Misbah
Asad
Afridi (no point analyzing his brainless batting but he hasn't bowled well in this series either)
Sarfraz - would seriously consider Adnan in ODIs as well (post SLA) if he (Sarfraz) fails again with the bat
Sohail Tanvir (bowled well in the last game)
Saeed Ajmal
Mohammad Sami/ Cheema

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

Even at 38, Misbah is still the most dependable bat in our team in both tests and ODIs. It says something about the rest of our pathetic batting

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

Whilst Umar Akmal definitely needs to improve his temperament (and discipline), it seems some of us (myself included) are being too harsh on him. I was looking at his recent performances in the one-dayers and he has failed just once in his last 6 innings

4th ODI vs SLA 0 (the one failure)
2nd ODI vs SLA 3 (got another rough one)
1st ODI vs SLA 36* (low scoring game)
Asia Cup Final vs BD 30 (rough decision)
Asia Cup vs India 28 (wasn’t required to do much after the 200 odd opening stand, taking nothing away from Kohli’s brilliant knock but bowling let us down in that game)
Asia Cup vs SLA 77 (he along with Misbah rescued us from 33/3)

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

So ur always point out Afridi's bad performances

What about Hafeez

How many ducks he got in this series let me count 4 ?

Last spell of Afridi conceded 36 runs he bowled in PP too ....What else u need

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

Uncle ji no insult or pun intended but with ur age and experience (in regard to Pakistan Cricket) u should be in a much better position to know that ain't gonna happen anytime soon .... unfortunatly :(

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

why not to blame misbah, for selecting the sme playerS, why is he not dropping gul n younis? y is he not giving chance to the new talent?

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

PAK won the toss and elected to bat first! YK is rested or dropped for poor form and Ajmal is rested :( and Sami comes in for Ajmal.

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

It is good that you raised that point. In an ideal world both Hafeez and Afridi should be fighting for one spot (bowling all-rounder) in the team and we should have an extra pacer (but we don't have many decent ones at the moment). Neither is good or consistent enough with the bat to occupy a specialist batting position

but I know that's not going to happen

The opening is a specialist position and unless Hafeez shows greater consistency in the next few games, he should drop down the order and bat at 6. You need stability and batsmen with good techniques at the top of the order. Open with Asad (stabilizer) and Nasir Jamshed or Ahmed Shehzad (stroke players)

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

You dropped your best bowler in a game that you must win....Senseless?
Imran Farhat 3 runs off 18 balls.

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

misbah the selector of pakistan team ?!?!?!?!

yesterday wen i went to sleep, he was only the captain of the team, ek raat mai kiya kuch ho jata hai … :hinna:

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

No I mean to say he is captain, he should speak to the management about the players who should be in n out :smack:

11.6
Kulasekara to Imran Farhat, 1 run, Farhat punches again, but this time straight to sweeper-cover. A rare single now. Thirty-two runs have been scored since the last time they ran a run

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

15.3
Dilshan to Imran Farhat, 1 run, full, on the pads, worked away to deep square leg to bring up his fifty. Farhat looks up towards the sky, pumps his fist. Younis Khan is the first man to applaud. What an inspired selection Farhat's has been. Just what Pakistan needed

Re: Pakistan vs Srilanka - 5th ODI, 2012

Pak 82/2 off 18.1 overs...
