jaise uss kee test team mein jaga banti hai. And I can’t believe that he was fasting during the Final. I for one don’t think that you can do full justice to a physically demanding job like playing sport while fasting. No wonder he went first ball. He should have fasted some other time.

LAHORE, Sept 26: All-rounder Shahid Afridi has made a request to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) not to consider him for selection in the two-Test home series against South Africa, starting in Karachi from Oct 1.

Afridi’s request has compounded the selection problems for the South Africa series since middle-order batsman Mohammad Yousuf and Shoaib Akhtar are already doubtful for the Test matches due to contrasting reasons.

When contacted, chief selector Salahuddin Ahmad neither deny nor admitted that Afridi had made such a request.

Sources, however, told Dawn that Afridi was not keen on playing during the month of Ramazan since he had experienced some physical disorder in the Twenty20 World Championship matches due to fasting.

Meanwhile, Yousuf’s availability for the series will be confirmed after his meeting with the PCB Chairman Dr Nasim Ashraf on Thursday (today). Sources said the chances of Yousuf changing his decision on the ICL affiliation were remote since no clause in the central contract bound him to do the same.

The national selection committee is also likely to consider Faisal Iqbal, Yasir Hameed, Asim Kamal and medium-pacer Sohail Tanvir for the Test series against South Africa, said the sources.

there is an application called Fantasy Cricket which you can add and create your team and play against other people....

shoaib akhtar needs to be told that if he misbehaves again, his head will be shaved bald :)

that will keep him in check

I cant believe Afridi was fasting during the final - these guys were travelling so they can make up their fasts later. Plus they are earning their living playing sport, so he could have made it up. Thats just insane for him to have done that. Allah has given lax in these circumstances.

^ I think Malik should be before Misbah..No. 5 is as low as I would like the captain to come in..
He is a batsmen after all..and he will never improve his Test rating unless he gets to bat in the middle for a long time...

haahaa...

I know I have said this before...but it was really amusing how he announced retirement from Tests to focus on ODIs.

Will he now announce retirement from ODIs to focus on 20/20 !

In the presentation ceremony (after the T20 WC Finals), he appeared to justify his dismissal on duck by saying that he had focused on bowling in the tournament.

Obviously, he is a very focused man.
