Re: Pakistan vs South Africa @ Johannsburg, Feb 14th 2007
south africa treat these games as 20/20 when they chase, the only way to make it competitive
even the umpires have had enough

Pakistan cool their heels as equipment goes missing
Osman Samiuddin
February 14, 2007
Pakistan’s preparations for the final ODI against South Africa at Johannesburg have been hampered by the disappearance of key analytical equipment en route from Cape Town.
Medical and video analysis material went missing after the fourth match at Newlands, in which Pakistan were crushed by ten wickets to trail 2-1 in the series. “Two cricket coffins with computers, a TV monitor, a video recorder, a DVD player and various other pieces of equipment have disappeared,” Bob Woolmer told Cricinfo.
“The physiotherapist’s ultra-sound equipment along with other medical supplies have also disappeared,” Woolmer added. "We have no idea what has happened. We can claim it all on insurance but that’s not the point. The bags and equipment were all checked in when we left Cape Town and we have the relevant baggage tags for it. We all saw the bags being checked in so they must have disappeared somewhere during the journey, or on arrival. It’s valuable equipment too, worth somewhere between US$15,000-20,000.
“I hate to think ‘typical Johannesburg airport’ but there is a bit of history. We’re still hoping the stuff will turn up but time is running out and we need the equipment to have any hope of being prepared,” Woolmer said.

Re: Pakistan vs South Africa @ Johannsburg, Feb 14th 2007
^ Of course that was the reason alone!!!!!!
I am hoping for a bit of fight from the bowlers. I won't read TOO much in this series because we wont get those kind of wickets there in carribbean. They will be closer to what we saw at Centurion and Durbin
Re: Pakistan vs South Africa @ Johannsburg, Feb 14th 2007
I have a serious problem with the fantasy game rules. South Africa's batsmen never get a chance to bat and therefor can't score the points I choose them for. Maybe the rules should change for people to make 2 or 3 late changes in future when Pakistan play just to make it a little more fair. Presently Pakistan don't give much of a challenge :)
On a serious note: I doubt if the present series could bode well for Pakistan's preparation for the WC. They might be negative, despondent, fatigued, etc. I can already imagine the pressure poor Bob will be under....

Re: Pakistan vs South Africa @ Johannsburg, Feb 14th 2007
I think Afridi's incident was also a setup...
Re: Pakistan vs South Africa @ Johannsburg, Feb 14th 2007
Inzi, Bob Woolmer and Bari world cup team is in action. I think they are missing the services of Kaneria. If he was around they might have gone with him instead of Asif.
Lets see how Inzi, Bob and Bari (intentionally not calling it Pakistan squad) world cup lethal bowling attack of RAO, RANA and RAZZAQ would defend a big score posted by INZI hard work.
This bowling attack looks dangerous, especially if lightening speed of RAO, RANA and Razzaq is suplemented by aggressive spin bowling and fielding of Kaneria. For that reason Inzi relied on his strong bowling attack and batted first. Lets see how they defend it.
Re: Pakistan vs South Africa @ Johannsburg, Feb 14th 2007
Everything seems like setup to me...problem lies in our own people..we are so corrupt we just cant help it...everyone forgets about the game and worries about the satta and money that they ought to make...They better win this world cup man..Someone has to stop eating money and let out team advance...
Re: Pakistan vs South Africa @ Johannsburg, Feb 14th 2007
Come on Rana, take 4 wickets and win this one for us ![]()
Re: Pakistan vs South Africa @ Johannsburg, Feb 14th 2007
Ya this might have hampered Bob plans and that is why Inzi went for a duck, since he doesn’t have blue prints for playing Pollock. Now PAK may face even bigger problem, since Inzi wouldn’t have Bob script with him when he comes to field.
I think that package contained kitchen items, Bob and Inzi missed their meals.
