It was the wrong team Selection to begin with. I mean, Inzi was left for some apparent reason but we haven’t heard his side on this. Yousuf, why did he drop out on the morning of the test match? And Faisal Iqbal was the worst possible person to replace Yousf. I mean, they should have had Asim Kamal who made his 99 at test debut against SA. He deserves better treatment than this from the selectors. He has been left out of the test squad for 2 years now.
They should just experiment with Khurram Mansoor as the opener. How much worse can he be, at least they can give him time and he has the technique to develop into world class opener.

This just highlights how limited Pak batting reserves are. On a belter, and the track is as flat as Andrea Corr (and no where as appealing!) and still these clowns crash!

yousuf's last minute withdrawal definitely has something to do with ICL. I won't be surprised if he sits out in the next game as well.

I think Nasim Ashraf is willing to do whatever it takes to bring back Yusuf so I suspect if its ICL rearing its head again, it should be settled before the 2nd test match begins. Otherwise, we might be looking at a 2-0 white-wash with Yusuf and Inzi.
Faisal Iqbal at 2 down, is something i am still trying to come to terms with. Test cricket is where the boys from the men are separated and we found out very early in this test match when Pakistan started their batting.
What was such a rush for Akmal to play as if he is in a 20/20 match?

One thing I failed to understand, why would you have a player who is opener (Salman Butt) in the team but open with a make shift opener(Akmal). I admit, I didnot watch the game but I failed to understand why it was done.Although Akmal did ok with Bat but it could have been worst.

Salman is in hospital with some stomach infection. The SA slip fielders are devastated.

Ye to hona hi thaa. Hopefully Shoaib will play face saving inning but then who regards him as a specialist esp for Test matches? Hopefully we will see better fight in next game... move on.

well its strange you guys are talking about this
ICL clause states, you are free to play for your country whenever you want. I highly doubt ICL has anything to do with his decision. I think, he really hasnt played a lot of cricket recently, so all this show of PCB roping him back in and offering him incentives to come back to play for Pakistan, has put pressure on the guy as he has to perform now and back himself and he didnt want to make a fool out of himself or something in the field.
