Although the right call was made here (Hafeez did it wilfully), I am not a big fan of the law as it is open to interpretation

There are still occasions where it’s impossible to truly judge whether a player swayed subconsciously (naturally) or intentionally while running

Right call or not, it is a pathetic rule and it was an equally pathetic decision. Wait till an Indian player is given out BCCI will throw a tantrum , ICC will apologize to the world and Mars and change the rule.
