SA probably should never have reached 236 from 38/4. Miller was dropped on 7 (Farhat dropped a dolly at midwicket) and he went on to make 67. On another day it could have cost us the game.
In the last game Amla was dropped (on 27 by Hafeez at backward point) and he went on to make 122 which proved costly!

Misbah has played slowly at times in the past and bottled it but in this series he has done very well. Infact he has been instrumental with the bat in both ODI wins

Although the right call was made here (Hafeez did it wilfully), I am not a big fan of the law as it is open to interpretation

There are still occasions where it's impossible to truly judge whether a player swayed subconsciously (naturally) or intentionally while running

i am a bit worried abt our batting in long term…i mean hafiz, misbah, younis khan, afridi, shoaib malik will not be around for the next world cup…what the hell …hafeez maybe around but he will suck on bouncy tracks of Aus/NZ…so who is going to bat in next WC:smack:…

look at our neighbors…india has kohli, raina, dhoni, pujara, dhawan and many others…all of them are fit for the next world cup…

Right call or not, it is a pathetic rule and it was an equally pathetic decision. Wait till an Indian player is given out BCCI will throw a tantrum , ICC will apologize to the world and Mars and change the rule.

I don’t think the situation is as bleak as you are suggesting

There will be no Misbah or Younis for sure but 33 year old sada bahar Afridi (will be 35 then) and 31-year old Malik (will be 33 then) will be around imo. i.e. following options

Mohammad Hafeez (will most likely be the captain in 2015 World Cup)
Shahid Afridi
Shoaib Malik (I am beginning to believe that he’s needed in the team now)
Ahmed Shehzad
Umar Akmal
Asad Shafiq (need 1 or 2 good consolidators in batting as well)
Umar Amin
Haris Sohail (about time he’s given a chance. have heard a lot about him plus him being a left hander is an advantage in ODIs)
Nasir Jamshed

Imran Farhat (will be 32 then) might be selected as well esp. if he shows consistency with the bat

Fawad Alam also has a chance

Azhar Ali (I don’t regard him as a limited overs player though)

True. :woho: Unless we find someone really better for this position, and someone with a long career ahead of him, then he should be in both the limited over teams. Surely, now with Misbah and Younis about to retire we may regularly need Malik’s consolidating innings.

Actually, I heard Graeme Smith during the test matches with positive comments about Pak bowling in a couple of games where SA was on the back foot.
