Pakistan vs Newzeland 2nd Test in Karachi

Let the humiliation begin.
Pakistan vs Newzeland in the 2nd Test in Karachi, where the pitch is predicted to be much different than the one day match, favoring spinners.

This will mark a comeback for Saeed Anwar after missing 6 months of cricket, as predicted Shahid Afridi will make way for Saeed, regardless of scoring century, half century, and a duck in his last 3 innings.
Not surprised at all.

There are still doubts of Shoaib Akhtar playing because of the swollen ankle which happened during 1st test in Lahore.

The reasonable replacement for Shoaib will be Wasim Akram, who still wouldn’t get his spot back after being rested in 1st test, and opening the spot for young Danesh Kaneria, who took 6 wickets in the second inning of the 1st test.

But the news of Shoaib is still unconfirmed eventhough the game starts in just 3 hours.

Pakistani team

1.) Saeed Anwar
2.) Imran Nazir
3.) Younis Khan
4.) Inzimam-ul-Haq (VC)
5.) Yousuf Youhana
6.) Abdul Razzaq
7.) Rashid Latif (wk)
8.) Wasim Akram
9.) Waqar Younis {C)
10.) Saqlain Mushtaq
11.) Danesh Kaneria

12th man would be Mizbah ul Haq

Newzeland would be missing 2 more players from their last test, with Andre Adams and Brad Walker are injured, the possible replacements for them would be Scott Styris and Ian Butler.

Newzeland team

1.) Matthew Horne
2.) Mark Richardson
3.) Lou Vincent
4.) Stephen Fleming (C)
5.) Craig McMillan (VC)
6.) Chris Harris
7.) Scott Styris
8.) Robbie Hart (WK)
9.) Daniel Vettori
10.) Darryl Tuffey
11.) Ian Butler

Btw, the match starts at 11:30 PM Eastern time. 4:30 AM GMT.

It is not confirmed yet, the hotel where the bomb was exploded wasn't anywhere near the National Stadium, I know, I lived in Karachi for 10 years, and the hotel is about 23 miles away from the National Stadium, Cricinfo is portraiting like it was outside the stadium.
But highly doubt that match will occur on time, maybe delayed or cancelled.

it sickens me to see the current violence in pakistan and now something we were looking forward is also on hold...

Ofcourse the first thing needed is security and now we understand why teams like Aus,NZ,Eng etc think twice before coming here, we cant blame them for being cautious, its just our daam administration and current law order..

Match canceled

This is result of 20 yrs old policy of being soft on Mullahs.so that they can create problem in Afghanistan and Kashmir. Now they are coming back to hound their own country men.
Shame on people who do these kinda stupid stuff..

Now I don't blame NZ anymore for their decision in Sept/Oct 2001.

Just too sad.

How do u know if Mullah's did this? Don't bring kashmir and afghanistan into this stick to the topic.

… and I think we should kiss the Australian tour good bye… we just dont deserve it..

Sharjah, the offical home for the Pakistan cricket team.
Question, I have to agree with AQ here, this is work from those no good mullahs, Pro Talibanis, they don't want any outside communications from the world, no tourist.

I guess kiss the Australian tour good bye as well.

I guess the solution would be Newzeland coming to Sharjah, or Pakistan going to NZ to finish the series.

well wait till investigations proof it.
by the way isnt it true that pakistan pampered these people so much that now they are back to hound them.
And dont take it otherwise I strongly condemn Hindu Militincy in India also...They are gonna take to india in 20 yrs where pakistan is right now..

I condemn all kinda of violence where innocents are victime....

It hurts to see such a wonderful series going down to drains.

Thats fine if AQ is right but what I was saying not to bring in kashmir or afghanistan otherwise the thread will go under different discussion. But I guess I should not say that since am not a moderator so I take my words back.

In my opinion its the people who were against refrendum and trying to show Musharaf incompitant or someting. Who ever did they killed 2 birds with one shot. Cricket and Musharaf.

So SAD to see Aussie tour being canceled thats if it happens.

Karachi Test cancelled due to bomb blast; NZ team returning home

You actually thought NZ would have stayed ???

It is all very sad and barbaric. I can't condemn it enough.

** Sorry Umair Bhai, the only thing I can allow to be discussed here is the impact of this on cricket. All political references should be in the political forum.**

Can't get worse, can it?
Well will that be postponed or cancelled?

Sad End to a Fantastic Tour. I feel sorry for the Pakistani Cricket Players who have not been able to play decent series at home and fans who are deprived of watching their team perform.
