Pakistan is playing a three test series against Ireland before moving to London to play the 2018 World qualifier called World Hockey League semi-final.
A disappointing 2-2 draw in the first test! Tomorrow they play the 2nd match.

They even don’t know them when Pakistan won the World Cup in 1994.
On a summer day in 1996 when I used to work for pak telecom, I saw two familiar faces walking through the corridor of my office looking for the general manager’s office. When they came close to me I realised that they were Shahbaz and Tahir Zaman! No one was recognising them. I took them to the general manager’s office and told the PA who the boys were!

May be compare to the Times of samiullah . Islahuddin . Hassan sardar times. But I think shahbaz n tahir salman were still known to most of ppl. But now no one knows who is current captain of our side. At least in khi no youngsters are interested to play hockey. My friend was playing for junior of his department in 90s . He is still playing for them. Shud have been replaced by young lot but no new player to replace.

Yes it is so sad! Karachi used to only 1 or 2 players in the national team but that name was always a big one - islahuddin, hanif khan, Hassan sardar, mumtaz haider, waseem feroz and lately Sohail Abbas!!!

The current captain is Haseem who is the nephew of Hanif Khan!
